  • If only I had a guitar with low enough action to do something like that.

  • well, that was completely humbling

  • good technique, used not to it's full potential :\

  • Dumb

  • no string dampener? holy shit

  • Awesome skills & beautiful guitar!

  • eh...give me a david gilmore solo...its more meaningful and melodic

  • @slitherlock

From what I can tell, this video was not intended as a 'meaningful and melodic' performance, but a demonstration of technique.

Please get your head out of your ass and stop posting pretentious comments.

  • @joe1969812 hahahaha

    Greetz, Fred Westra

  • Thats so sick I'm getting that same guitar except the dots on the neck look like eyes

  • No it wasn't just speed & I don't think he was playing that fast - it was in technique which his is flawless he is a master of the instrument & is able the play the entire range of the guitar flawlessly - Eddie Van Halen & his generation cannot do this stuff..The man is clearly comes from a jazz classical background to execute this well -

  • These generation of guitarists blow Van Halen & those guys out of the water - this guys technique is absolutely flawless - he is able to place all the board & do stretches advanced jazz & classical guitarists can execute - the guitarists of today have learnt well & taken what came before them to new heights

  • @yellowlght

in speed sure, not in musicality

  • 0:51 wtf? final fantasy?

  • @Zerosaiko666 yeah its the same scales as Prelude i also use them haha

  • @F4TB0Y69 ah, nice playing, btw

  • @Zerosaiko666 em what? :S sorry i misunderstood that comment, I amen't Bill Peck, i was just saying i use them like he does, although I only discovered this guy recently, or are you saying that because I forgot to say nice playing lolz

  • Comment removed

  • @Zerosaiko666 eventhough its final fantasy, you wish you could do that ;)

  • @Zerosaiko666 just a major scale.

  • Comment removed

  • @Zerosaiko666 FF on crack

  • not saturated enough

  • damn great playing you have got sick skillls but i don't like your sounds...sounds to much like mario bros/keyboard...

  • sweet man. nice work.

  • first thing that came to mind was.... SIMON..... COWELL

  • i dont know what just happened

  • Fake

  • @XzPlayeRTwOXz the hell it is, you can tell. if he can configure his fingers the way it is played its obviously real

  • i cant see tabs O_O

  • @sinceibeenlovingyou that word was thrown in there for views sake

  • Is it David Villa?

  • godd job, but when will people learn thats its not always about how many notes you can play?.. 5 stars though :)

  • so many people talking shit to this...when they have no vids of their own. this is amazing playing no matter what those dickheads say

  • thats a very nicelooking dean

  • I always thought Simon Cowell didn't deserve to be a judge, but after watching this...I was wrong.

  • @rocknrolldud - im really fucking glad i wasnt the only one thinking that.

  • @Idiotcorrector im really glad I was one who wasnt

  • I wish I smoked before I watched this..

  • cool.thanx for playing some of these ideas slowly.

  • that is nuts. good stuff. :)

  • wow sweet guitar

  • IMO theres isnt any melodic value to some of these licks =/

  • woah, mad skills your doing like a kinda chris broderick tapping thing, with using both your hands and mainly all your fingers to execute notes insanely, mad !

  • Stanley Jordan perfected this technique long ago.

  • Redonkulous, I don't care if it's not spelled right. You know what I mean.

  • are those frets like raimbow colored or something??...idk if its just the lighting but it looks awesome

  • Nice tone bro, what amp you playing through?

  • sounds irish

  • dude, you know mark tremonti??!?! that's amazing! the guys like my hero =P say hi to him for me :)

and man that's insane playing, im a little disappointed to see people like yourself doing it though coz i was planning for myself to come around and invent it and then i saw all these videos so im workin on somethin new now =P

  • too much gain. but nicely done

  • the sound is annoying its like its not an electric guitar very fake sound

  • He never said he was the first one who ever done it, he was just the first guitarist published in a major US guitar magazine doing the 8 finger legato harmony.

  • nice playing and really awesome tone, but your definately not the first one who did this technique.

  • Did any one else hear the theme for final fantasy? :)

  • @jacobhippiee Yes the main theme arpeggio!

  • arpeggio on 1:06 sounds something like jason becker's arpeggio in a lydian...just jason's arpeggio sounds better..

  • :08 what the fuck is that....not 8 finger tapping i know that much

  • I really like the arpeggio @ 1:00

  • Check out Niels Vejlyt. He also has a fantastic 8 finger tapping

  • Dude, if MAB your playing, you got something good going on, that dude is, hands down, my favorite guitarist.

  • the beginning sounds like it should be in Pac-Man!

  • very nice! clean, separated and smooth

  • pretty cool dude. are these just random licks you came up with?

  • Who is shawn lane?

  • @spudzdad1 buckethead said shawn lane was the best guitarist hes ever seen by far...and Im sure you know how good buckethead is....look up "shawn lane not again" it will be the top video, hes holding a red guitar....fastforward to 5:00 then you will know who shawn lane is....

  • @silkstringz he was cool too very humble always said he was a better piano player than guitar I was like what lol a band I was in cut a demo @ his place off cooper in memphis when we was done he was down stairs and he was like ive talked with you before we chatted a bit shame he left so soon check out the willies theres vids on here he was doing the sweeping thing way back n the day before it took off in the mid 80's

  • @silkstringz thanks shawn lane rocked.cool heads up.silkstrings rocks

  • awesome bill

  • wtf...pacman is in the house :P

  • prityy awsome tht fretboard is actual minted

  • teach me your ways

  • Damn, dude. It must've taken you awhile to get that hammer-on-ing with the picking hand worked out. the stuff you do at 1:08 and 1:24. thats fantastic, man.

  • I would really love to learn this man! Teach me!

  • your sweeps sond really clean. thats good.

  • you sir have mastered the guitar

  • Ha! when i first saw you you looked like simon cowell...

  • yup, thats most awesome

  • i play drums

  • I am Bill S. Preston Esquire! hahahahahha

  • You would probably be good at piano. Cause thats what it looks like

  • Pointless.

  • why does he look so much like simon cowel?

  • love the scales

  • So im not the only one who loves the Dean Vendetta.

  • wow... at first I thought it wasnt too great because of the tone and I couldnt get anything out of what you were playing.. but those arpeggios and melodic lines after one minute were beautiful. Great technique

  • @Surgicalshred hahahahahahaha thats the funniest thing ive heard in a while, nice tapping btw

  • The tone sucked, but I actually thought it worked out pretty interesting with the tapping... sounds almost like a keyboard

  • bored

  • at the beginning sounds likes Galaga xD

  • that's some great playing, man!

    but what a horrible distortion.

  • it's great but it doesn't sounds very clean..

  • I have almost the same guitar as him :D But with an Orpheus guitar neck :D

  • I hate Vivaldi.

  • That sounds anazing u guys just jealous u cant do tjat

  • wow that takes skill!.... pity it sounds like fucking balls

  • funny how you find great guitar players that dont have one single album...that is cause ones you have to put a record together you realize all you know is repetative exercises

  • @Mr0ro lol.. that is so true. Playing with a band or enen trying to put your own songs together is alot more than just technique and pentatonic licks

  • This guy can play some insane tapping licks! He's also got a solid legato and sweep picking technique -- very fluid and even. You can tell this is a person who's extremely dedicated to his chosen instrument.

  • Lol why do you people hate jamming so much? He's just kinda chilling, playing the final fantasy theme really fast, and it's fucking awesome lol. Jut chill out and watch his fingers move.

  • Nice Dean\m/ and sick playing

  • this is soooo needless. i cant wait to try it hahaha

  • what pedal? cus damn thats sexy

  • that's sick dude, your really good, damn !!!!!!!!!!!! i've been playing forever and can't touch that shit.

  • great......now can ya play a song?

  • that was ridiculous! I can't believe how smooth that sounds..I can do a little bit of sweeping, but I get lost if I move two many shapes laterally on the neck at one time...You rock dude!

  • cool man!!!!!!!

  • I didn´t know Simon Cowell could shred this good

  • @YogSothothOfGuitars

Just for the sake of being an asshole: "could shred this well"

  • i can play arpeggios all day and night fast but god it sounds so dull after a while. 0% music 100% fret wanking

  • his hands are tiny

  • his frets are like shining colors!

  • Good skills !

  • 1:35, what the fuck

  • it sounds like that guitar battle from gh3 with slash

  • Its an effect

  • @BRomero1331

    Thats a flutter.....

  • sounds like an amusement arcade at the start

  • its amazing! ... im good but i cant play like that even if my life depends on it lolz ... i'll be dead lolz ... that was amazing! ... :)

  • 1:07 sounds like the Prelude of Final Fantasy Seven.. :D lol

  • I have a band Exit The Ride that is about songs! This is just showing some guitar solo ideas. As far as the guitar sound....it is a practice amp with no other effects. Could the tone be better? Hell yeah, but this is not a highly produced video. Check out Mark Tremonti's DVD if you would like to hear me sounding and playing my best.

  • plug the guitar straight into amp and play ... you get a better sound

    congratulations on your ideas

  • technique superb....creativity....barren......anyone can sit and practice harmonic minor....and this mode....and this one.....and another one....make music and sell it to the masses.....apparently it's the only way to reach people

  • Pfft, people hate skill. Name one shredder in the top 40? The masses like cheap easy shit that takes 0 skill. Skill is a gate way to using your creativity. This is obviously a skill demonstration and no not anyone will/can sit and practice. Dedication is incredibly important. Complex music both creative and non creative is too difficult for your average 15 year old girl or "metal head" to understand so It goes fiscally nowhere.Let me guess, beginning to play?

  • thats because shredders generally dont practice songwriting, which is a skill of its own that lots of great guitar players dont have. think of tom petty, he didnt practice a bunch of lead technique and didnt know a whole lot of chords, but he wrote a lot of songs and developed at writing good 3 chord songs, i think a lot of shredders are bored by 3 chord songs and dont play them with feeling. the problem is not enough people are working on songwriting, then maybe use shred as a decoration

  • I personally practice both...I'm a shredder, but I enjoy writing classical songs, sometimes entire orchestral pieces, and then tossing some heavy metal in with it... All (good) shred guitar is is classical music with some distortion.

  • hahahaha sorry but when you hold the pick in your mouth you look like hitler playing guitar.. good video though

  • 1 10 final fantasy :)

  • @ddsspp1229 lol check out bulb's cover of the intro it's in my favourites... so siiick! wish i could figure out how to play it but i think you needs 7 strings...

  • This is the most pointless shit ever. But awesome!

  • k9cb rofl! i thought the same thing, simon cowell 8 finger tapping =p well anyway this guy gets 3 yes's =p gj gj 5* shit man! luving the epicness

  • ur mustach growed pretty fast! nice :d and then disappeared again ;(

  • pretty hot lookin guy!!

  • WOW! dude that's amazing now play something that sounds good

  • very clean , and nice inlays bro

  • dude looks like simon cowel until he lifts his head up

  • is it me or is those strings changing color lol it looks like hes playing colors

  • That was awesome!!

  • id like to know how to get a hold of the devil so i can sell him my soul to cause thats the only way anyone could ever play like that

  • He's got fluid tapping technique, but nowhere near as good as those pro axemasters like George Lynchvor Andy Timmons

  • Uh, who cares?

    Where's the music?

  • you´re an asshole

  • I'd buy a slow-assed Neil Young album over this guy's noodlings any day.

  • that was insane

  • ...is 0:52 - 1:20 the first four bars of the Final Fantasy prelude? If so, frickin awesome.

  • 1:08

    What scale/key whatever is that?

And are there tabs for it?

    Please!

  • Is that a vendetta?

  • yup. 4 FR if i am not mistaken

  • Shawn Lane could do all that w/four fingers and alt.picking hahaha.

  • Are you fucking stupid?... He cant move up his arm 4 decimeters to play 4 new notes on a 20'th of a second ._."

  • Technicaly he cant play the same phrase as this cat,but hes playing just as many if not more notes hahaha!!!!

  • cuz shawn lane isnt of this earth. he has like 1000 other fingers in other dimensions playing at the same time on the same guitar

  • Shawn Lane could do all that w/four fingers and alternate pick while eating 50 cheeseburgers.

  • @Surgicalshred U got that right bro!!

  • hahahahhhahahah

  • @Surgicalshred HHAHAHAH OMFFGGGG YOUR MY HEROO!! HAHAAHAHHAHAHHAAHAHH

  • @KevenHyun

    :D
