I listen again to this song on my birthday wishing that there would be other times to see Robert and his band in concert. Most of my immediate family I've lost to cancer. Hope ur singing with the Angels brother.
Hey Bruce, were you cheated out of money or are acting on what you've heard? Robert is a musical genious and story teller. I have my kids listen to this music with me and watch the video I'M interested in your perspective. After many concerts and meetings with Robert you need to inform me of what you experienced.
Thanks, massbroadcast! For the next concert after this one, Robert was booked at the Steel City Coffeehouse on 31 Oct. 2008. Instead it became a memorial concert, featuring Eric Andersen and special guest artists Nik Everett, Tom Hampton, J.D. Malone, Jan Ward, and an intense performance by Michael Tearson.
What a great fine this video is! I am(was) a friend of Robert's. I was so saddened by is sudden death. Funny you having Michael Tearson of Philly's 102.9WMGK in this video! I am also a proud WMGK Insider & know all the DJ's Thanks for this precious memory!
I was drumming out with my band and met Robert at Dobs, so you can guess I'm older than dirt. We weren't up to his musical level but he listened and gave encouraging words. Never judgemental, never an ass to my knowledge. Rest my fellow musical friend. You are missed.
I met Robert at Godfrey Daniels in Bethlehem PA. Before this song, he said it was about substance abuse. I told him I work with people in recovery, so he sent me an e-mail with the lyrics, which describe someone realizing they need to get help (being in the woods too long).. He was glad his song had an impact on me & his lyrics were used to help others.
I was fortunate to know Robert and consider him a friend. He always found time to chat after his shows, and I'll remember those days fondly.
Of course it is telling! That's the way Robert was! He always used his music to tell about his life! If you've read his past blogs you'd see just that.. you'd see how he wrote so many songs about his daughter Corrina, his friend Eric Anderson, etc. He was a romantic storyteller & well known for it! His story in this song was most definitely about him leaving his beloved mountains to be with the woman that was on his mind. Listen carefully. Watch his actions. His wife is there. The woman is not.
I loved Robert Hazard and I love Michael Tearson.

I would like to see local bands step up for the fight against Cancer. Let's have a benefit concert/all day event to raise awareness.
