How about this question then?: I've read that the original of this was lost somewhere in Europe (sold by Stadler?). So, apparently, what actually remains is a "revised" and "corrupt" print intended for "standard" clarinet. Am I not hearing in this a basset horn range, down to low-A?
I don't know anything about a lost version, but this piece was originally for basset clarinet (heard in this recording). People though today like to play it on an A or B-flat clarinet.
I refer to The Mozart Compendium, page 288, in the sub-section "Quintets for wind and strings: "The work was one of Mozart's finest inspirations, sadly known to us now only in a corrupt version..." I ask because this book was released in 1990, plenty long ago for something to have developed since.
They do at least with classical music. But I think they have popular artists (like They Might Be Giants) record versions of their songs in "simlish" too.
thumbs up if you head this on sims 2
