Look.... Page is the sloppiest live guitarist....and my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE ! He's Jimmy freakin' Page. NO ONE can play like him when it comes to 20 minute long "No Quarters" and "Dazed and Confused" etc etc. I have MANY bootlegs... Page is "best"... but "favorite". It's all about "style" of playing.
Oh, yeah, he writes stuff too. heheheh !

@Zebonka Yeah, you are so right. I'm ready to strangle Robert. That fucker is keeping me from being able to see and hear this live! Everybody, do what I do: Boycott his solo crap! lol
Respond to this video... I would be in line too if they toured, but I get why Plant is reluctant to do it. He's trying to perform songs that weren't easy to sing on tour in his 20's. Look what happened to The Who. Daltrey's voice couldn't hold up night after night.
I like this of course! But the version from their movie "The Song Remains The Same" is the best ever! I like that raw sound they had there and I think it's the best song in rock history! But I give them props here too! It's Awesome!
Where ... the ... fuck ... is ... the ... DVD??? HURRY UP PLANT, I can just tell it's you holding things up. Mister "I don't want to relive the past", but keeps playing his old songs in every band he's in. Get on with it you silly, lovable old prick.
@Zebonka So true. I can understand his want to not tour with Zeppelin, and to be honest, I think that's a good call. I'd love to see them live, but I understand Plant when he says "we want people to remember Led Zeppelin as it was." But as for the DVD: RELEASE IT NOW! This concert was the event of the decade, and a very limited amount of people were able to witness it. They have millions of fans all over the world who couldn't go, it seems a shame to keep the footage hidden from them.
Jimmmmmmmmmmmmy Page........................!!!!! the great guitar hero for ever : sounds terrific and magin and stratospheric and telluric and MAGNIFIQUE
i think the thing that separates Zeppelin from any other group from the 70s is that their shows would not come off as a burnout festival for aging hippies if they toured . That is because their songs are as vital today as they were then . If they chose the right set list it could be incredible .And the audience would very likely be made up of young people just as it used to be if they kept the prices down .( which they wouldn't ))
I got this on " auto replay" for a couple of hours now cant stop listening this masterpiece. Google Chrome has an extension called "Auto Replay for YouTube" if ur wondering how to put it on "repeat"
It looks like a cameraman, you can see him several times throughout the video, moving around in the background if you look closely. I had to look at it several times to really see what he was doing though.
A great video and a great song from the greatest band ever. They don't get much better than the mighty Led Zeppelin!!!!!
I wish I'd been there. It's a shame they tuned down a whole tone - you can really hear how much better the original key was in all the songs - but it's understandable.
Love this band, true legendary artists and musicians. Their music has stood the test of time, all we want know if to see them in SYDNEY! Come on boys, it's been a long time since I rock n rolled. Rgds John from Physical Graffiti.
Coldacre- Huh, stick Hendrix you say?? you need a history lesson, Jimi was ripping it up way before JP was, and JP ripped off Hendrix's Machine Gun lick in this song!!!
You shouldnt burn Jimi, i spoke to Jimmy Page in 2009 for 15 minutes and he said Hendrix was a massive inspiration for him...........heed his words. Alos i really like Led Zep as i do most music from the late 60's - early 70's....but it does annoy me when people burn Hendrix....try playing any of his stuff on guitar!! you'll kno
@valleysofneptune I play guitar and what bothers me is how little people take into account that the effects he used greatly shaped his sound and gave him an ability to just make noise when he wasnt playing particualry well, i have the same effects and gear and i can make the same noises that he makes on machine gun. He was a good player but he relied heavily on effects and his stage persona. He was one of the best but not the best.
@Magicquickfingers Since I've been loving you has no effects, and it it still sounds great to me. He definitely isn't the best technical player out there, but he's one that most can identify after a few notes.
@Magicquickfingers there is certainly an art to using efx tastefully . Page was great at creating moods and sounds . I love his work on those Death Wish movies , particularly the film score . Page should make sound efx for films if he is not going to play live anymore , which apparently he is not
Jimmy Page is the greatest guitarist of all time. you can stick your Hendrix, your Clapton your Blackmore....... Jimmy's the only guitar hero from the 60's still tearing it up properly.
@ADAMKTN I am trying to get in that mindset of just not caring and going all out. Robert Plant has been the main inspiration for my vocals and over time, it kinda just clicked. Alot of singers now hold back a bit and dont really just go balls out. I love that kinda groove to going balls out and not caring. It truly is a different feel now a days, but I am trying to craft my voice around that "flower Power" feel.
Check out the singer for "Virtual Zeppelin" here on Youtube. You will never find a closer match to the original '70's Robert Plant sound than that guy-PERIOD!!!!
To anybody who says jpj was not as important as page or plant FUCK YOU if it wasnt for jpj kashmir stairway and many others would not have reached there legendary rep
I meant Page and Plant when they did their solo thing, without jpj.- Walking into Clarksdale-, or what ever it was called. Still not bad though musik though, a bit sad perhaps.
I like Page and Plant but that album IMO sucked.. sucked bad.. If you search youtube and look for trampled underfoot rehearsals or black dog rehearsals youll see Jones was an integral part of their sound.. im sure you already know this tho ;)
@rekycheky Agreed. They still rocked yeah, but without John Paul Jones or Bonham, not the same. But still, it was good to see this concert. They really brought the house down!
It's funny at 6:54 the dude sitting right on stage with his legs crossed. Did some billionaire pay a million bucks to be able to sit right on stage for the reunion? Talk about the best seat in the house!
This song was a masterpiece, so unique in its sound, definately one of my favorite zepp songs, but arent most of em my favorites, lol, they still rock, please come back full time Robert!!! I Love you guys on so many levels!!!
Led Zepellin were so diverse in their sound. They played everything from the country "Hot Dog" to this ethereal tale of a viking's regret and pain. This has become a favorite of mine because it works on so many levels. Listen to the album track and you can hear about 4 different guitars fading in and out, sweet. The music will live on long after us and they are gone.
While I agree with you mostly, I don't think this song can exactly be called "peacefull". I mean, the melody is very chilled, but the lyrics.... I get the chills deep down every time I listen to this.
its songs like these that really show how underrated JPJ is. I mean, this is BRILLIANT right here. But then again, its hard to look really good playing next to Plant, Page, and Bonham.
dude u must be kidding...jpj had his own identity....and he will always have it....led zep is the best as a band...n ya jpj is underrated or maybe the silent ZEP
First of all, i was NOT insulting jpj or led zep. Second, that comment is 20 pages back. Third, all I'm saying is that some people who have heard of led zep, or don't really know them underrate jpj. I'm saying this song proves them wrong...You totally misunderstood me lol.
Unreal!! Who knows if they will do one last tour, if Bonham jr fills in I think it's a great tribute to his dad & I think John Bonham's spirit will be with the band. These guys still have it. Forget the Police..these guys will be the ultimate!
i think they should play a few shows maybe? at least? in the states? i'd go see em all if i could raise the dough. LED ZEPPELIN ROCKS. if they rocked then THEY ROCK NOW.
I'm glad they did this show, but i dont think they should tour. a true Zeppelin fan should know that Led Zeppelin just isnt Led Zeppelin without Bonzo. im not saying that i wont sell everything i own so i can afford a ticket if they do go on tour, im just saying this isnt the REAL Led Zeppelin. good video, by the way.
You're half right! John Bonham is THE greatest drummer of all time, and that's the only reason Zep split for good. However Page, Plant & Jones had to feel that the only person who can fill in for John is his son Jason, and Jason was up to the challenge! Right now, Plant is holding up the new album (Page recently stated that him, Jones and Jason Bonham have created new material)& tour because he has a commitment to Allison Krauss right now.
Dude, I totally agree with ledhead. Zeppelin just brings on good vibes. period. whichever style it doesn't matter. My old roomate used to come home from a bad day at work and just crank Zeppelin and go to his "happy place" like in Happy Gilmore. I use that tactic now when I feel bad. Just turn on Zep or Rush and forget about the bad shit.
god! this song is so ahead of its time. zeppelin to me is the pinnacle of music. when im down i listen to zeppelin, when i wanna get pumped ill crank communication breakdown or bring it on home. right before i go to bed i play some rain song or stairway. zeppelins music has the power to make you trip without even being on drugs. my god what brilliance. thank you zeppelin i truely thank you for what you have done to my life and music in general.RIP john bonham the greatest drummer of all time
what is your favorite aspect of zeppelin like, blues, folk, country etc. I gotta go with folk like goin to cali or ramble on and such. Or trippy stuff like this
i see led zeppelin as a very classic hard rock band.kind of metallic too.for me every led zep song is great.the choice of the song depends on my mood.when i am down and discouraged i listen to thank u.when i want energy i listen to thier hard stuff.night goes to stairway n classic folk stuff.when i want to come to the reality i listen to down by the seaside.basically led zeppelin is a huge saviour for me.i cant think of my MP3 player without led zep.u dnt like thr hard stuff?
oh! no dude i love their hard stuff like the ocean, whole lotta love, and their 30 min versions of dazed and confused its all brilliant. Just like i love every other aspect of zeppelin i just find myself listenin to stuff like battle of evermore, or in the light and that more often. but i really am the same way it all depends on the mood. I dig all aspects of zep. And i completely agree on the cant think of my ipod without zep. I always just classify them as a timeless, limitless rock band
I agree with you 99.9%. The other .01% is that Bonham wasnt the greatest drummer of all time...he was the greatest percusionist of all time. Cuz when you're that damn good your put up against all percusion instruments and musicians, and Bonham top them all. No one will EVER be better. Hes the best there is, was, or ever will be!
@Althalus212 this goes to show how zep's music has stood the test of time!!!! song sounds as vital and awesome as it did in 1973 when it was recorded!!!! Cream may have been first supergroup, but Zep took it to another level!!!!! never will there be another band or an era like this again, thank God i got to see it, saw Zep in Chicago in 1975 when i was 21
Hahaha this is nice! "Go buy Led Zeppelin Music". I'm so glad Warner has stopped taking these vids off YouTube. I guess they've realized that if the vids are going to affect the sales of Led Zep music, it'll be in a positive way only. Welcome to the world2.0. Thumbs up for the video, everyone involved.
Solo reminds me of Pinocchio's Fruniture by Frank Zappa...John Paul Jones rox btw!

Just turn on Zep or Rush and forget about the bad shit.

god! this song is so ahead of its time. zeppelin to me is the pinnacle of music. when im down i listen to zeppelin, when i wanna get pumped ill crank communication breakdown or bring it on home. right before i go to bed i play some rain song or stairway. zeppelins music has the power to make you trip without even being on drugs. my god what brilliance. thank you zeppelin i truely thank you for what you have done to my life and music in general.RIP john bonham the greatest drummer of all time

good to know that u kind of guys are out there...i cant think of music without led zeppelin..its in my blood...greatest band on earth...

what is your favorite aspect of zeppelin like, blues, folk, country etc. I gotta go with folk like goin to cali or ramble on and such. Or trippy stuff like this
LedHead303 3 years ago
i see led zeppelin as a very classic hard rock band.kind of metallic too.for me every led zep song is great.the choice of the song depends on my mood.when i am down and discouraged i listen to thank u.when i want energy i listen to thier hard stuff.night goes to stairway n classic folk stuff.when i want to come to the reality i listen to down by the seaside.basically led zeppelin is a huge saviour for me.i cant think of my MP3 player without led zep.u dnt like thr hard stuff?
mulholland1985 3 years ago
oh! no dude i love their hard stuff like the ocean, whole lotta love, and their 30 min versions of dazed and confused its all brilliant.

Zeppelin Music is the only drug I need!

I agree, Bonham was an excellent percussionist.
