  • Speaking of James Brown...

"They're the second-baddest out there...They make such bad records that you got to be careful when you play a new tape on the way home from the record store. Their groove is so strong you could wreck."

    ~~James Brown

  • @theAudience Thanx for posting this quote..nowadays almost nobody give it up for nobody but their self.

  • Jammes Brown was omniphonic: He was putting out new funky songs almost weekly in the

1960s and 1970's. Kool's Gang was originally a funky jazz band, raw, loose, and very dancible. They later changed their style to a more commercial vein, to survive the disco era.

  • I can still recall nyc spring/summer 1970

  • the beastie boys totally stole the part at about 1:15 for their song b-boy bouillabaisse, it comes in at exactly 9 minutes in to the song

  • it's called "sampling" not stealing. Stealing is when they dont clear the samples.

  • They didn't clear the samples for Paul's Boutique. It was before sampling laws went into effect in 1991.

  • who asked you, fuck face?

  • It's just good to get your facts right so you don't sound like a idiot. And idiots are the reason why your name is true.

  • Great & Funky early Kool. You can hear the influence of both James Brown and Sly & the Family Stone.

  • This is my hymn... forever

  • Kool, nice upload. "Let the music take your mi-ind, wanna feel deep insi-ide". They took a page from the JB's book of funk vol.1 chapter1.. on tha'1...

this groove is solid. thanks for sharing
