  • Does this work if you want to take a pinhole shot?

  • can i use this cable with the mini?

  • @alix1493 You don't need the adapter, but the same cable release that comes with the adaptercwill work with the Mini. Any standard cable release will work with the Mini.

  • Could this work with the diana mini?

  • @weehanny2k8 No, but you don't need an adapter, only a cable release. The Mini has a cable release socket built into the camera. You'll find it on the bottom side of the lens. Just screw your cable release into it, and you're good to go.

  • @kaituba Awesome, thanks for replying, i googled and I was told it didnt :)

  • does it work with Diana "take my heart" ??

  • @topthedog Yes, this adapter will work with any Lomography Diana+ or F+ clone.

  • AYou have invested quite a lot in these cheapo cameras :O

  • hello there, have you tried the diana cable release on the holga? does it work?

  • @happybunny1457 No, it won't work with a Holga, but there is already a cable release adapter made for the Holga. You can get one from Freestyle Photo Supply or BH Photo video.

  • @Bananantics The small table top tripod I like to use is the Ultrapod II. For a full height, lightweight tripod, I like the Velbon MAXi 343, but there are many good tripods out there to fit most needs and budgets.

  • erm can i know what kinda tripod i have to use for the diana?

  • @gnarlyworm Any standard tripod will work.

  • can you use this set on Diana mini? thanks:)

  • @slaba31 No need to, the Diana Mini has a built in cable release socket for a cable release.

  • @kaituba so if I buy just the cable that means im good right?

  • @slaba31 Correct!

  • Was just curious what you think is the ideal length of time for taking an open exposure of say traffic at night? Is it possible to have the exposure open for too long that it will come on blank? Thanks Kai

  • @RyanXHavok The correct exposure depends on lots of factors, the number of streetlights lighting your scene, is the moon out?, the ISO of your film. With a film with an ISO 400, I would suggest you try a base exposure of 1 minute, and then 2 additional exposures at 30seconds and 2 minutes. Take notes, then look at the results to help you guess the next time you are out shooting under similar conditions. If 30 seconds turned out to be the good exposure, the next time try 15sec, 30sec, 1 min.

  • @kaituba thank you for such a speedy answer. I just received my diana f+ with instant back today and was wondering as well if its possible to take long 1-2 min exposures with it as well. conditions being night time on a road with traffic

  • @RyanXHavok Yes, using a cable release along with the instant back is certainly possible. Let me know what sort of results you get. I'll be also trying out some night photography with my instant back.

  • hi, kai.

recently bought a cable release 1m. but the shutter only goes up half way. what could I do to trigger the camera?

  • Thankyou so much for your videos on the Diana F camera, they have been so helpful!

  • Hello Kai, I just ordered a Diana F+ SnowCat Edition, should be here sometime this week, I ordered the Cable Release adapter, just wondering if you think it will work, if not, any suggestions? Thanks!

  • what does this thing do?

  • @aaronandandrewfilms The cable release adapter allows the use of a cable release. This is useful when making long time exposures. It is also for those cases where the camera is mounted on a tripod, and you wish to avoid camera shake that sometimes happens when the shutter lever is manually tripped.

  • Does this work with the Diana mini?

  • @xthealltimelow No, but the Diana Mini doesn't need an adapter. It has a built in shutter release socket. You only need to supply the cable release.

  • does a cable release work with my panasonic lumix FH1 digital camera, or any type of cable realase

  • @vwlover94 This one won't work with your camera. I checked the specs on the Lumix FH1 and it didn't appear to have any sort of cable release accessory. You can get a cable release adapter for you digital camera. I can't post a link here, but do a google search for "cable release adapter digital camera". It will come up with several links. Click on the one for Adorama. It's a strap with a release socket that can fit over your camera.

  • where can you get a longer cable release?

  • @waggahomo11 You can buy a longer cable release from any photo supplier. Look at B and H Photo Video or Adorama.

  • another question mr kaituba...will it works on mini diana?

  • No need for it to, the Diana Mini comes with a cable release socket built in.

  • @kaituba Does that mean that I only need a cable release and do not need a collar?

  • Thank you once again kaituba, i had problems with unlocking the cable release but turned out it was just me :D thanks!

  • i've literally never used this thing since i got it
