  • isnt that a cessna?

  • @fartinthewind13 well ya its a cessna knock-off, the model is just called an elfite apprentice its a damn nice plane to fly

  • Great fn tune man!

  • I got this too, the guys at my rc club got alot faster planes than me and it makes me jealous, but I'm the only one who like the windy Weather. Why you ask? I'm the only one who can hover without a chopper. Someone offered me to trade my apprentice for his nexstar ep and so I did, but the apprentice was really nice.

  • hi.

did u glue the wings or just put the double side tape ?

  • @TheAvimag I use epoxy...

  • aha i ahve no idea man i thought it would be a gud idea to get one for fun.lol ahh nah its pretty strong just a few scratches.=]

  • aha i got mine yesterday never flone befone and wht do i do?? staright into a fucking tree aha lol

  • @synvayne47 did you use a simulator for a while before you flew? If so which one? Did you total your plane's body?

  • hi i just got my first apprentice 15e rtf and just wondering how it flies? What is the speed on it and how does it fly when inverted?

  • dose this plane have flaps on the main wing?

  • Nope, Ail-El-Rud-Thr. You don't really need flaps though it flies beautifully and slows down like a champ.

  • this thing or firebird phantom

  • I too love Rc models ^^

  • i have had my apprentice for almost 10 years now and it is still in perfect condition!!! get yours today

  • Right, considering Li-Po batteries were in research labs 7 years ago, I bet you've had one 10 years.

  • haha.

  • The Apprentice is a great plane. I have had mine for months now and done a lot of flying with it. It is a solid performer and quite predictable. I have to say that it may not be the right plane for a raw beginner. Find a person to take off and land for you while you learn and remember to fly 3 mistakes high, it will save you money and frustration. I replaced the stock DX5e with a DX6i. Much nicer because it has Expo and has space to remember 10 planes.

  • Buddy box with a experienced flyer is a good thing to do too.

  • im thinking of getting a new plane soon. would you say this apprentice is better than the hobbyzone supercub? $300 is kinda pricey, but its so much better than the supercub, its even 4 channel. Would anyone chose the supercub over this plane?

  • i would just go for the apprentice. its brushless and uses lipo where the SC is brushed and uses nimh, this comes with a spektrum radio and when you outgrow this plane, you can buy a better plane and take the radio, motor, esc, and servos out and put them into your new plane. you cant do that with the cub.

  • oh i forgot to mention, i only have 40 minutes flying time on rc planes, and no experience, should i still get the apprentice?

  • the apprentice is a trainer, for pilots of any skill level. i have 0 hours of flight time and it will be my first.

  • i,m looking to get into rc planes too. spoke with several dealers, they all recommended the e-flight apprentice.58 in. wingspan, and they say the same thing about the eletric equipment being able to put in another plane once you out grow the apprentice. gonna order it in a couple days i think.have about 28 hours on simulator.

  • yeh thats why i want this plane too!.

abloe to use the 2.4ghz and just buy another reciever and off you go with another model.

    that is good as!.

and long range on the dx5 aswell.

definately on my xmas list ;)

  • @frederic470 I have the Super cub. I saw an apprentice yesterday at the flying fields, and that plane is a dandy. Go for it..... I'm sure you already have, for your post is two years old.

  • is it four-channel (i.e. can you control throttle, ailerons, rudder and elevator individually)?

  • yes, and it has got lots of other great features : )

  • an can you tell me the flight time and charge time for the included battery and charger please?

  • 15 to 20 min

  • nice how much are they?

  • Around $300 for a ready-to-fly kit.

  • Nice flying mate. Got mine a few weeks ago and waiting for nice day and time..LOL

Do your servos hum at all, rudder servo inparticular?

    Geo

  • try disconnecting the rudder's servo rod and see if it still hums.. if so the humming stops, there's too much load to handle on the arm. If not, you might have to replace the servo.

  • Cheers mate, i'll give that a go.

The dude at the LHS where i got her said that humming was pretty much the norm for digi servos?

    Geo

  • my servos humm (I havent got the apprentice, but on other planes) but they dont hum always, only if they are in a certain position, so I think its normal. and if not I dont care, they have survived a lot and nothing is wrong with them.

  • Cheers mate...still waiting for its maiden.

I have seen some vids of other planed and heard noise comming from the servos so yer...all should be cool

    Geo

  • @GeoStar13 no its the airleron servo's that hum, i wouldnt replace them if u listen clostly to the other vids u can hear it hum to,

  • I got my Apprentice a little over a week ago. Nice plane.
