Sen. Obama voted repeatedly to kill Illinois equal protection for infants who survive abortions. Infantcide of abortion survivors was later banned by Congress, yet that ban i subject to repeal. Know who you are voting for.
Sen. Obama favors full repeal of the Defense of Marriage Act, which protects your state from forced recognition and legal honoring of same-sex "marriages" from other states where courts have ordered gay marriage (MA,CA,CT)
Obama is in favor of "full, open integration of flagrant homosexuals into US military barracks, forcing inappropriate same-sex intimacy (bunks, bathing, etc.) on heterosexual soldiers." Know what are you voting for.
After 8 years of Bush, after his controlling of your life with the Patriot Act, whay so mean against a person who is talking to you of Hope? I hope that someone republicans could explaine to me.
I've heard so many people thinking of Obama like a socialist. Let me tell you, by my point of view as european and witness of that great country that is US: in the US the socialism haven't had any appeal in the past, even with the Roosevelt's New Deal. Obama is fighting for an health care and for an economy opens for everyone, and I can't thinking why a person could think that is a negative thing!

god, he is amazing! he makes you want to cry and yell and get up and do something! he is the realest sounding politician! and he is suuch a good public speaker!!
and you do know that the typical salary for a CEO of an insurance company is in the tens of millions, right? some insurance company CEOs 'earn' more than 100 million a year and up (not including bonuses and other perks of the 'job').
how is this possible you ask?
from high insurance rates and by arbitrarily denying health coverage and/or medical procedures to patients who NEED treatment.
insurance companies are jeopardizing the nation's health and bankrupting the system
Obama is a great motivational speaker, with lots of charisma and charm. Aside from that, his policies are completely wrong for this country in this time of desperation. His taxation plans, nationalist healthcare are plans for taking away our economic freedoms and bringing us closer to a U.S.S.R. type approach to government bureaucracy controlling our lives.
institutions like publically funded healthcare, education, social programs and so on are what makes a nation strong, not weak; ALL citizens deserve world-class healthcare & opportunities for higher education, not just those who can afford it. it's like a long-term INVESTMENT in the country's overall economic health. why? because a healthy & well-educated population = a nation of smart people who are healthy enough to work hard, and be less of a burden on society. this is economics 101.
and the reason why so many americans go without decent health care (millions of americans and their children have NO health care coverage at all), is because the current 'for-profit' system is being raped & gouged by private insurance companies. the health of a nation's citizens should never be sacrificed for the sake of financial gain. the obscene profits being sucked out of the system by private insurance companies is made at the expense of the sick and dying.
the 'american dream' must be redefined, because the current system of cannibalistic capitalism - that rewards savage greed & selfishness - is devouring working-class america & destroying the fabric of civilized society.
if we continue on this path, our hopes & dreams will descend into a collective nightmare. in fact, i'd say the 'american dream' has already begun to unravel... as it probably should.
Single has always paid higher than married. It would be a slippery slope to reward adulterous behavior. Agreed, not all single parents have done anything wrong to be in that position, but it would open all sorts of doors for the abuse of children and of the system. Think for yourself.
ONLY the super wealthy, those making MORE than $600,000/yr will see a tax increase. those earning b/w 250k to 600k will see NO change in their taxes. this is a FAIR and balanced tax plan.
No, that is redistribution of wealth. They have a name for that - Socialism - You'vr heard of that, Karl Marx and all his buddies. A flat tax across the board is FAIR and balanced. I bet you didn't even listen to Ron Paul since you don't think for yourself.
Mr Obama is probably the ONLY hope America has at this point to redeem itself in the eyes of the world; perhaps you don't understand how *critical* that is, but even some hardcore Republicans are realizing that now
even multi-billionaires like Warren Buffet (Berkshire Hathaway) and Eric Schmidt (Google CEO) have publically endorsed Barack Obama for President, and these guys are hardcore capitalists. certainly, they are more qualified than YOU to make a judgement about Obama's economic policies
i'd say, most US citizens, indeed much of the world, don't care whether you 'think' that Obama is a socialist, which is a patently false claim. and so what if his econonomic policy gives a break to working-class americans and their families?? that money will end-up going right back into the economy anyway, through consumer spending.
Obviously you have no respect for yourself or authority. His name is Senator B. H. Obama. Only liberal media types disrespect people by dropping their titles. Mr. Buffet et al have already made their money, they won't be paying tax on wealth they have already accumulated. How is that for knowing facts. From each according to their means, to each according to their need. Socialism. Look it up. Trickle up economics does not work missy.
Obama is proposing that the current tax cuts remain in-place for lower income individuals & families, those earning less than $150k & $250k, respectively. The MAJORITY of working americans do not earn anywhere near those figures, in fact, the average annual income is less than $50k, so Obama's plan would actually benefit the majority of working-class americans.
According to the Washington Post, "Obama's plan gives the biggest cuts to those who make the least, while McCain would give the largest cuts to the very wealthy."
"ONLY those at the very top of the income scale (0.1%) would see a tax increase" (under Obama's proposed tax plan)
to put that into perspective, if you're a wealthy CEO making more than 3 million dollars a year, you will pay more in taxes... as you SHOULD!
The Stakes are too high to divide us? Hunh? Mr. Obama, you were voted the most liberal senator!! Your voting record has shown anything but bi-partisanship. How is the most liberal senator going to unite Republicans and moderates when you're so far left?
cooperation and bipartisanship are not the same as voting moderate. striving toward the former implies respecting others and working together, striving towards the latter implies compromising your views or pandering to voters.
the choice is simple. unity, hope, and change, or 4 more years of agonizingly pathetic leadership. really i would be shocked if our economy could take even another year of bush mccain failed economic policies. when obama says stuff like "the fierce urgency of now", we know that he recognizes a serious problem here. when mccain says "the fundamentals of the economy are sound" we know he's fully beyond clueless. the fundamentals are great if you got 7 houses, 12 cars, and oil leases in oklahoma...
and if you had the sense to tear yourself away from the Republican Rhetoric & Propoganda channel, aka Fox 'news', and actually do a bit of research, from alternative & TRUTHFUL sources, then perhaps you wouldn't be making a fool of yourself on youtube, parroting the same asinine drivel that we've all come to expect from Fox.
do us a favour... go back to your game shows on tv, ok
USA is blessed with true talents, this is real and inspiring not only to the Americans but factually to the World at large. God bless the citizens of the world.
Obama's plan is NOT socialism... it's pragmatism. He wants to do what is RIGHT for ALL americans, not JUST the wealthy.
All this fear-mongering about socialism is nothing more than a red herring tactic, concocted by McCain's Republican strategists in a desperate attempt to scare the electorate away from Obama.
The Republican Party are LIARS, and will employ every dirty trick in the book to obfuscate the facts and keep the public fearful & misinformed.
look, strong communities are built by the hard work of *healthy & well educated* citizens - THAT is what it takes to build a great nation - NOT the kind of cannibalistic capitalism that is devouring civilized society now. living the 'american dream' can ONLY be realized if *everyone* (all citizens) benefit from good health and a decent education (smart + healthy = STRONG). why should the super rich, elitist minority at the top (5%) get to run the show and expoit the rest of american society?
YOUR money should be paying for things that YOU NEED, like public infrastructure, transit, community organizations, environmental sustainability, higher education, world class health care for every citizen (regardless of his/her status in life), etc. you know, the amenities of a modern society that WE all take for granted... stuff that healthy & functional democracies are built upon. and it won't cost anything NEAR what those greedy bastards on wall street are STEALING from YOU.
I generally like to find logical arguments, but given the political situation as it stands, who the fuck would vote for McCain? If you do, you are a fucking moron!!!
I suspect any attempt to advocate McCain won't be without stale bigoted ideas. Give it a try...
The evil doers ruled the masses for eight years then a new voice came out of the wilderness and proclaimed tolerance shall rule over the land. The evil ones cowered at the thought of a educated prince and the changes that are coming. The evil ones rushed to the merchants of dead and armed themselves with automatic weapons. They knew not what else they could too. They prayed to their God but he has forsaken them upon witnessing their ignorance and the destruction they brought upon the land.
Even though I am a Dutch person (living in the UK) I want this man to be the next president of the USA as he is AWESOME!!! He brought me to tears and as someone else on here has already said: if he just delivers on PARTS of his pledges, he will be a president to remember!!!
This is THE MAN who MUST be the 44th President of the USA ! NO other ! He will make things change, if people unite and work together for this change. Th whole world is concerned, not only America ... Don't miss up this time !

As I watch Obama supporters writing in the throes of religious ecstasy, I am reminded of the old video of lemmings crowding and clamoring to be the first to jump off a cliff. It is not an exaggeration when I say that Barak Obama will destroy America if he is elected. The Socialist programs he intends to implement, The radically liberal judges he plans to appoint, the total evisceration of the constitution will take decades to recover from if we can recover at all.
Do you understand anything at all about socialism? If you think that Obama's proposals constitute socialism then the answer to my is question is a resounding no.
After this speech all mccain followers are having sleepless nights. They are literally p**ing while trying to sleep. McCain.. just take a look.. this is what true leadership is unlike you blaming everyone around you except yourself.
Were I American, which I am not, I would be proud to vote for this man. Until a candidate assumes power it is not possible to know whether he/she will deliver on pledges given. One can only assess what is in front of you and, America, what is in front of you is an intelligent, charismatic, articulate, visionary. If he fulfills a fraction of his potential you will have voted into office a President to match the greatest in your history.
Some of us aren't fed up with politics, we're fed up with criminals whom choose to disobey the Law of the Land - the Constitution - and lord over us dictating what we MAY do with our lives.
It would do you good to remember that Government is PRIVILEGED to exist - and that the people have RIGHTS the government may not LEGALLY trample upon.
There are people behind government's actions, and criminal acts of government are truly criminal acts of those claiming governmental powers.
this man will be a inspiration to all races in this world and most importantly african american,so long we as minorities in america has always been labeled as the less fortunate and misunderstood people which leads to our own demize.most people in america right now are facing a financial crisis that 90% of minorities in this country have been facing for the the last 30 yrs.Middle class will always be the answer to a econ. crisis.if we want real change we help our fellow citz. thats not soc.
Obama is equally as destructive as McCain - he only offers different labels for VERY similar policies.
Internationally, his policies are identical...
Continual occupation of over 1/2 the world - while not waging "Active War" like McCain, the perceptible difference from OUTSIDE the USA will be minimal - if it exists at all.
...just to take a, sort of a realist perspective...theres a lot of change going on outside of the Court, um, that, that judges essentially have to take judicial notice of. I mean youve got World War II, youve got uh, uh, uh, the doctrines of Nazism, that, that we are fighting against, that start looking uncomfortably similar to what we have going on, back here at home.
Even when this election is over, it's not really going to be over, is it? I think I know now. The hatred on both sides just runs far too deep and it looks like whatever the outcome, there will be bloodshed because not one person is going to stand up and stop it.
It's ok, though.
This has been coming on for a VERY long time and it's just around the corner.
I'll let senator Obama be the voice of HOPE.
I just want there to be accountability and looks like Bush is going to walk.
This is the third time in my life a politician's words have moved me to believe in the promise of hope that is America. First, in 1961, I heard JFK's inaugural remarks and that affected the optimism which carried me through my youth. Then, listening to Bill Clinton on the radio, I believed that the power of his voice could connect with anyone and share the pain. Now, today, I have felt this same hope for the future with Senator Obama. Vote! Vote early! Make it come true!

Not into either candidate but there's one thing I know for sure...this guy is nothing but a smooth talking lying sack of shit! Just hope all his talk of change is for the better but seriously doubt it! God Bless America!
Finally, a REAL President we can honestly be proud of. President Obama will lead us out of this depression and give us a chance for REAL change. We are truly blessed to have this man become our new leader. Everyone, let us stand together and help make his words a reality. Then once again, we can feel that being an American is an honor.
I hope Obama wins. I also hope he lives up to his words. Sadly the line between this election's candidates is so blurred that I almost feel it is a dictatorship. Scary to see Palin's nomination by the Republican party, I think that was stupid, and when you have power, being stupid is a very dangerous thing. Good luck and best wishes to the only hope of America - Obama.
Hell yeah!!! I'd vote for him (unfortunately I'm an Australian living in the UK ;) Obama '08'. All the best to ya all in the US..PLEASE don't deliver another Republican President to the world! God knows we need change!
This is our next president! I cannot wait until we can have a real American President again. He has run a great compaign and will make us a proud country again. Bush did us in good and it will take a long time to recover from the wealthy Republican rule.

I hope Americans have enough sense not to elect this man. I can't remember a time in my life when I've seen such blatant demagoguery... Or a time when so many people were so easily misled by impassioned rhetoric and propaganda.
You must need an introduction to American politics then. The difference--Obama will actually deliver. You are right--how dare we believe in something like HOPE. We should just continue to vote for the same a********* that got us into all of these wonderful economic times, no gay rights, religion taking over laws in each state (you know which religion). Give me a break!!!
revizcaino, Do you work? We already get 40% of our gross income taxed. What are you doing about that. Shit needs to change whoever we choose to vote for. Socialism? Have to watched Siko? Socialism doesn't seem bad compared to what we have here. You obviously watch too much Fox news. Did your church leaders put you up to this?
revizcaino before calling him socialist you need to look in the freakin mirror and ask why your dear leader the embodiment of christ arranged for a 700 billion bailout to socialize the banking industry and his rich buddies losses+ 150 billion pork mccain voted for.

Bush and the whole Senate voted for this bailout to we wont get into a depression...
The U.S. became the strongest country in the world under the fastest time thanks to our founding fathers and their believe in Capitalism and the knowledge of Less Government Intervention with Less Taxes. Remember the The Boston Tea Party?? We didn't want to pay taxes to the British...
Takin from the rich and giving to the poor is not the way this country was founded. Putting a cap on people is not smart.
Wow - you have really drunk the Kool Aid, revizcaino. Some right-wing psycho idiot was spewing the Republican line on Bill Maher's show two Fridays ago. His exact words were remember the Boston Tea Party, we didn't want to pay taxes. FALSE. It was taxation WITHOUT REPRESENTATION that we did not want. We were taxed but had no voice in the Senate. That basically means we wouldn't mind being taxed if we HAD representation. Someone has to pay for the firemen, police, highways, etc.
Oh god. Ssomeone voting for someone who lives in a magical world where dinosaurs roamed the earth with humans and somehow the dinosaurs died and humans survived.
I agree with everyone. His speeches are always so touching and personal. He has such charisma and personality - you feel like he is truly running for the people, for the opportunity to bring change... I am so glad to be a part of this unique uplifting movement!!
I live in a country that gives FREE health care and social welfare. Is this Socialism or our govt working for us? Are Americans that selfish, where the idea of having their tax money providing some respite to those who for some reason CANNOT afford these basic things in life? I think not.
The NRA, after seeing the hike in gun crimes are worried about their gun rights. What about the right to life? Nothing is wrong with having a gun but there must be some CONTROL
love from holland- I've known he's going to be president since dec.2007...now all you've got to do is use your heart and mind and save us all by voting OBAMA!
I've been involved with politics since Richard Nixon 2, but only now have I felt inspired. At 56 this man makes me feel 20 and enraged my country has been denied our greatness for too long. It is never too late.
Hope over fear...unity over division. I am a black woman who was a Hillary Democrat. I still love Hillary. But when I heard Barack speak after winning Iowa my eyes opened and my heart soared. I was inspired. Today, he did it again.
I left the US years ago, and for the most part have given up on the politico status quo. But this...this man, this message reminds me that THIS is what our country is about. Hope. It's not a dirty word to be mocked. Hope is what founded the United States of America. And once again, I am proud. That what was originally the ideals of America, people who love freedom from fear and oppression, FREEDOM of Religion (meaning you can worship how you wish or not at all) and we've lost that. GO!!!!

The Stakes are too high to divide us? Hunh? Mr. Obama, you were voted the most liberal senator!! Your voting record has shown anything but bi-partisanship. How is the most liberal senator going to unite Republicans and moderates when you're so far left?

Because he voted on the right things and against the wrong things.

cooperation and bipartisanship are not the same as voting moderate. striving toward the former implies respecting others and working together, striving towards the latter implies compromising your views or pandering to voters.

the choice is simple. unity, hope, and change, or 4 more years of agonizingly pathetic leadership. really i would be shocked if our economy could take even another year of bush mccain failed economic policies. when obama says stuff like "the fierce urgency of now", we know that he recognizes a serious problem here. when mccain says "the fundamentals of the economy are sound" we know he's fully beyond clueless. the fundamentals are great if you got 7 houses, 12 cars, and oil leases in oklahoma...

The Republican Party are LIARS, and will employ every dirty trick in the book to obfuscate the facts and keep the public fearful & misinformed.

look, strong communities are built by the hard work of *healthy & well educated* citizens - THAT is what it takes to build a great nation - NOT the kind of cannibalistic capitalism that is devouring civilized society now. living the 'american dream' can ONLY be realized if *everyone* (all citizens) benefit from good health and a decent education (smart + healthy = STRONG). why should the super rich, elitist minority at the top (5%) get to run the show and expoit the rest of american society?
techcafe 3 years ago
YOUR money should be paying for things that YOU NEED, like public infrastructure, transit, community organizations, environmental sustainability, higher education, world class health care for every citizen (regardless of his/her status in life), etc. you know, the amenities of a modern society that WE all take for granted... stuff that healthy & functional democracies are built upon. and it won't cost anything NEAR what those greedy bastards on wall street are STEALING from YOU.

You are not hope.

Obama Compared America to Nazi Germany
...just to take a, sort of a realist perspective...theres a lot of change going on outside of the Court, um, that, that judges essentially have to take judicial notice of.

I just want there to be accountability and looks like Bush is going to walk.
mrburningone 3 years ago
There should be accountability for ALL criminals in government - and this includes Obama and McCain.
There is only one oath any elected official takes; to protect and defend the Constitution.
That's it.
See the Constitution Article VI, clause 3.
Stop obeying and protecting the Constitution as an official in office, you're committing high crimes - the equivalent of treason.
Voting "Yes" on the bailout plan was in violation of this oath - as Socialist policies are prohibited by the Constitution

This is the third time in my life a politician's words have moved me to believe in the promise of hope that is America. First, in 1961, I heard JFK's inaugural remarks and that affected the optimism which carried me through my youth. Now, today, I have felt this same hope for the future with Senator Obama. Vote! Vote early! Make it come true!

The U.S. became the strongest country in the world under the fastest time thanks to our founding fathers and their believe in Capitalism and the knowledge of Less Government Intervention with Less Taxes.

The only thing the GOP are talking about is the raising of taxes and the bad idea of a democratic majority (which they had enjoyed for EIGHT years)
The notion that Obama wants to ROB people of their money and give it to some lazy bum on the street.(which is what the bailout has done for BANKS)
Falsely claiming that Obama's pretending the race is over, where he clearly reminded his supporters of N Hampshire.
I reiterate, look at ALL the issues.
