i managed to pause at the title screen. it says: the days which are wrapped in the scene of summer and to pass gently. an encounter with the girls repeated in the sunlight. summer continues to where as well. she is waiting in the AIR.

Actually, I've beaten this without a death before. In that part of 4-3 with the two bowsers, just go under the whole thing, then when you get to the end, turbo jump through the "floor" and go into the pipe.

I can see that the reason genisto didn't use that strategy was that he was trying to do as few "airjumps" as possible.

How did you run through the walls and bounce off the air? Are they just invisible objects?

Everything in mario is made up by sprites - small images at 16x16 pixels. Mario is a sprite too. If you manage to hit the wall exactly when one of the wall blocks and the mario sprite is at the exact same height, the game thinks you're on the ground for a split second. That makes you able to jump. It's really hard to time, so good luck!

This is cool, but I still don't understand how it's all done. I mean yeah, I know the game has glitches but is it possible to just run through walls and jump in thin air whenever you want?  Btw I konw this is a TAS but still.

It is possible to jump in the air when you want. But that is the only thing the hack changes. The times where it is possible to go through walls would be possible in the real game too.

Ahaha I like how on 1-2 when you get hit after going to the flag you have to go back to the flag to finish the level.

And 4-2's ending was HILARIOUS.

Also did this game hack the physics as well or was a tool assisted run?
