  • ehh jamaican guyanese trini fuck it the musik is fiyah we kinda all have da same accent

  • The truth of the matter is, when Jamaicans call an indian Coolie we dont mean shit by it. Most of the times it is not meant to disrespect them, its just what we call them, I bet most Jamaicans dont even know what coolie means. I am not saying its okay to call indians coolie, but most jamaicans are ignorant to the real meaning. I am a true Jamaican and I cant rightly tell you that most of us dont mean to disrespect indians when we say coolie.

  • GWARN TRUE COOLIES.....BIG UP..

  • Its ignorance on the american's part. the only caribbean country they identify patois with is jamaica b/c thats where they vacation. "You have dreds? OH you must be from jamaica! Did you just say 'wha gwan'? You speak jamaican don't you!!" If they would visit our other beautiful caribbean countries, and immerse themselves in our rich culture they would understand that we are more of a melting pot than their entire 50 states!

  • nah..Jamaicans don't try to claim nuttin.....

  • handler and another thing the chinese came to Guyana as well i am not sure how this guy nataschafrance know's a lot about of culture history but its impressive not many people do but i am not sure about the chinese part i would have to asked my grandmother she would maybe know .. WHAT I DO FIND INSULTING IS WHY THE FCUK THIS SONG SAY COOLIE RIDEM ITS EMBRACING SHOWING BLACK PEOPLE AND SAYING THERE COOLIE JUST GIVES ANOTHER CREDIC TO THEM WHICH THEY ARE NOT AND NOT BEING RASIST

  • the word "coolie" was derived from the chinese word 苦力(ku li) which means hard work or laboured work the british used it first in south east asia and later took it to the caribbean where it was used to refer to the indians that came as indentured immigrants....now its used mainly in guyana and trinidad << the part where he talks about the british bring people from india to guyana and trindad is true i heard from my parents why they call us coolies is meaning by the indians were bagage

  • im trini to and ppl refer to me as a coolie i dont find it insultive but it has an insultive meaninq behind it like the word niqqa... the whole point is if u decide to take offcence of it its part of my culture i embrace it we were hard workers and i think if we werent i wudnt be here to day and know what i know

  • this absolutely true

  • they r called riddims no 1 artist owns them

  • just to add a bit...the word "coolie" was derived from the chinese word 苦力(ku li) which means hard work or laboured work...the british used it first in south east asia and later took it to the caribbean where it was used to refer to the indians that came as indentured immigrants....now its used mainly in guyana and trinidad to refer to those of indian ancestry...some don t have a problem with it while others find it insulting.

  • whoa whoa whoa who used dat beat first dem or pitbull in his song culo

  • this a riddim.a lot of artist have used this beat.that's how they do in Jamaica.Love is wicked is diwalli riddim and it's they same that Sean paul used.

This old hippie would like to say thank you, but my 13 year old granddaughter already told me who the 2 beautiful ladies are. However thanks again.

    Potsalt

  • Nice Nice !!

    Brick &. Lace !!

  • haha there so much talk over what coolie is. & i'm trini & I think its ok if ppl call each other coolie! i dont think its offensive...i just thought it was someone who acts very very indiany in guyana or trini.

    anyways nice song

  • Gah! Don't they have video for this?

  • cok güzel olmuş turkey

  • dam that sucks how so many trini's and guyanese use dis word among themselves and call each other that as if it is cool..im trini and I just think its weird that ppl use it in d worn context..its just as bad as saying niggah even though many ppl use it also.

  • Please folks educate me,

Who the hell are Brick & Lace. I'm an old hippie from the late 60's. Also when my sons who are in their early thirties greet each other by saying "hey nigger" when they meet,I get really annoyed.Because they are not of negro descent, and even if they were, I would still be annoyed.

    Potsalt

  • shut the hell up you old mut

  • Hey YungStackz21,

A wise old mut who can dance, you young mut,ha,ha,ha.

  • bksweetiie,

The word douglah refers to someone who is of Indo/Afro descent, but in Hindi it means bastard, and I find this term very insulting. Potsalt

  • Lol you know your stuff Potsalt thats good

  • datgur110,

The word "coolie" means labourer( British spelling) or plantation worker. The British first started calling the East Indian Indenture Labourers "coolie". This word referring to people of East Indian origin is a derogatory word, it's like using the "N" word.

    Potsalt

  • that means Guyanese dance.

  • Hey Aneila6839,

Guyanese folks are very good dancers. We are just as good as the Trini and the Jamacians.I met my husband at a Jamacian house party in London, England.

    Potsalt

  • really cool.

  • Hey Aneila6839, Thank You,but I still don't know who Brick & Lace are?

  • hahahah w/t/f???...type in love is wicked...

watch that video!!!!then u'll know who they are!!!

their two sisters from jamaica that are now singers and call themselves brick and lace!

  • what does coolie mean actually ! ? cause where i`m from, South africa, its a derogitory name for indian people =/

  • It used to mean an Indian servant or something, but in the westindies it just associated with any one who is Indian or has Indian in them.

  • yup before it was all asians though . thanks .

  • Coolie is derogitory in Trinidad fuh Indians too but all de black Jamaican dancehall artiste dem says it like nothing

  • I agree about the derogitory part...it is ignorant but realize it is also ignorant to think all the East Indians in the W.I. are from Trinidad or Guyana. I am Jamaica and I am from a mixed East Indian family. The word is used there as derogitory word just like Chiney, blackey, nigga, etc.

  • it is kinda like home American rappers use nigga ... it is a derogatory word but if u are really involved in the culture it is accepted

  • ooo iight . i figured as much . thanks .

  • is duglah deragatory for black people in the w.i???

  • Dougla usely refers to someone who is of East Indian and African parentage. Many Trinis have called me that and I don't take any offensive to it.

  • luv is guys u soo kool

  • Gosh i love it! Jamaicans the Kings and Queens of Riddim and Dance!!

  • It's not the same rythma s "Never Never", if you were listening...
