You should never poke the organ coming out of the fish's mouth, b/c its actually the stomach. The swim bladder is behind the stomach, and should be deflated by a professional with a sterile hypodermic needle, through the fish's side. You meant well, but all the fish you poked probably died of bacterial infections from cutting their stomachs. Fish can return to depth without popping their swim bladders. Getting them off the hook as quickly as possible helps. So do weighted release devices.

Numbers are up from when the ban was first in place, but they have a very slow growth rate, so letting people have a free for all now will soon decimate the population once again. And the "any fish in the sea", wrong. 2lb test breaks at 2-4 pounds if it's not IGFA legal. You cannot gain line in the fish quickly enough and the reel will spool, that's it.
Also that grouper is no where near 300. I've caught a 60lber, and that one looks to be 100+

It's called a Jewfish because it eats everything it comes in contact with. It is such a greedy fish it was named Jewfish. Seriously.

Kosher, because it has both fins and scales, and the grandest, because it is by far the largest kosher fish around, as it is in Florida's Keys (second to only the shark, when including all fishes).
