  • I find his overall arrogance amusing

  • That's the kind of detail EVERYONE gets wrong from time to time. Big deal! Randi's still bloody brilliant.

  • He's still my favourite little smurfy Magician :)

    P.S lol at 0:20

  • You think you can be smarter than him when you are as old as him ???? Of course everyone make mistake but he is at least smart enough to accept that he was wrong and learn from that mistake.... I bet some religious person posted that video........ who is not smart enough to accept THE FACT and always talk shit about science.... that science is not accurate....... stop using internet........ God didn`t invented internet... WE DID

  • Damn people, He's just a human being like us,everyone make mistakes..

  • my rebuttal to those supporting this way of someone correcting someone else to look at how over time, if this social act becomes accepted to accept fault without indignation will change and evolve into argument. I have experienced this in intelligentsia society and I hear contempt in Randi's voice as he simply makes false eye contact and uses colloquialism to distract everyone else.

  • lol if it wus bill o raily think wut wud have happened

  • You need to call this video "Randi James is corrected." completely different meaning

  • James Randi is amazing!

    James Randi is a genius!

James Randi is a great role model!

    James Randi cured my cancer!

James Randi's picture, which I have hanging on my wall cries tears of blood at night!

  • Wow, you people worship this guy.

  • @Ant1Live theres a difference between worship and admiration.

  • @Vermin298 Theres also a difference between worship and thumbtacks.

  • @Ant1Live i wasnt starting an argument with you, i was merely pointing out that noone is worshipping this guy.

  • @Vermin298 Except his worshipers.

  • @Ant1Live we'll you may be right but ive never seen or heard anyone worshipping him.

  • if i ever reach 105 i hope im allowed to be wrong just once 'n a while..KAY?

  • He wasn't actually wrong.. He was simply using the five senses to create the ILLUSION that he was wrong. A true master indeed.

  • excuse him for being 82 years old.

  • James Randi tells great stories. :)

  • I love James Randi. I don't understand anyone that wouldn't. And I don't understand what the point of this is. He made an error about a quote. So what?

  • James Randi may mean well but I know what I have experienced and no man can take that away from me. Nice try though!

  • Gotta love a man of science when corrected....note: No suicide bombs.

  • santa is looking abit skinny

  • @monkeydust100 He was on chemo to kill his cancer.

  • lol, who cares what the guys name was, right or wrong his point was the same. Could have said the guys name was dick face and the quote may never have existed and he made it all up. it's still a valid quote for the point he was proving. Also, he had the good decency to accept his error, that is a rare characteristic.

  • James Randi is wrong 'cause you're always right correct?

  • so he made a mistake, hes and old man give him a break. Guys like him are bringing the humanity out of stoneage where every guy with a optic or physic trick could fool and manipulate people. Thing is, while all this esoteric bullshit -> ghosts, mind readers, guys who talk with dead, psychics etc have no fundamental proof what so ever! never mind millions of people are saying they have these powers or experiences few are willing to step up and those few who strep up have been exposed by randi

  • this title is stupid the source of the quote is meaningless

  • I always thought there was a difference between being wrong and simply misspeaking. I know lots of people who say "irregardless" or "I could care less," but come on, we know what they're talking about. Now people who say, "There are weapons of mass destruction in Iraq," or "God doesn't want certain people in our country to get married..." Well perhaps these are more deserving of the labels "right" or "wrong."

  • What a classy guy, admitted he was wrong with dignity. It is to bad that many of the paranormalists will seem to hold on to things that have been proven to be crap.

  • imagine if a paranormalist was in his position

  • Class!

  • no one is perfect you can't expect him to remember EVERYTHING he isn't a computer. He is human.

  • @BambooLulu Although, as point of interest, a computer was in fact a human long ago. A computer was a person who's job it was to compute mathematical equations for the purpose of a company, an organization, etc.

  • @ProbableFiction Well, Randi wasn't calculating mathematical equations in this video. He had just mistaken who had said a quote. So, my statement still stands legit, He is human and not a computer. (Technology computer or Human Computer, he is neither.) Just human.

  • He was wrong? And so?

  • He was wrong about a quote...wow, like every single person can remember every single quote of noteritery, and who said it, and at what period in history! Especially at Randi's age...Randi is always right.

  • Oh no! I've been operating all this time on the illusion that James Randi has never been wrong in his life! Now excuse me while I spend the next 7 days wandering around in confused disbelief.

  • Randi made a mistake in this video. Therefore, the only conclusion is that we should ignore everything he says and believes related to reason and skepticism. Uh...go astrology whoo-whoo!

  • Randi is Awesome. fuck you

  • Great great man I love James Randi !

  • blasphemy!

  • Was this supposed to make him look like a fool? He just got the speaker wrong. When a teacher writes down a math equation and puts 30 instead of 13 by accident, is he stupid? No.

  • Randi could have made a lot of money with form. It's a trick. An illegal trick. But...

Market your tips. Split the takers into as many horses as in the race, each group gets one horse. Some fraction of them are convinced you know your stuff and pay again. Pull the same trick.

Eventually you have a handful of customers who have won many times in a row and will pay a fortune for your next tip.

  • True. more like 99.9999%

  • People make mistakes. He is very gracious. And he is still more right than 99% of people.

  • Isn't it refreshing to see someone be told they are in error, and not freak out, as though they have been mortally insulted.

Just listen to the alternate and if you think there's a good chance they are correct and not you, accept it. After all, you've learned something, or corrected an error in your knowledge.

Why do so many people have such a problem with being corrected?

  • just ego.

we like to think of ourselves as repositories of vast knowledge, and when we find we don't know everything or that we were wrong or partially misinformed we rail against it because we feel it diminished our status a tiny bit.

a man like Randi on the other hand you might argue has a big enough ego (justified without a doubt) that he can take small correcting without a problem. literally his IS a bigger man then the rest of us.

  • @martiangrundy because everybody is a genius nowdays. Even Paris Hilton knows more about nuclear fission reactors because she saw a documentary on the discovery channel.

  • @FailingTube

    HA HA HA!

    Yes that's a good observation.

Though a pretty small downside to the upside of the explosion of information, and ease of which one can find access to it.

    Nice one.

  • @martiangrundy

    because of EGO

  • @martiangrundy Multifaceted criticism complex. People don`t mind being corrected under acceptable circumstances (even if they aren`t aware of the circumstances and often they`re not!). Hence the term "Sheepeople", although most people aren`t aware they are actually "Sheepeople"!!!

  • @martiangrundy

beautiful beautiful perspective. to be corrected, is a good thing.

  • @martiangrundy i know right dude?

  • James Randi is God

  • So are you.

  • Whether he was right or wrong is not the real point here, the fact that he openly accepted his fault without indignation is.

  • @TheAwesomeClub Like a true skeptic would.

  • james is getting old and tired but he still a kool person.

  • These are the amount of slip ups to be expected by mere chance alone XD

    Randi is great! ^^

  • If you put a camera on me 24/7 you will find a few slips.. And im not over 80 years old..

  • ha ha, james is still great:D

he looks quite frail here though:(
