You do realize that the budget of the movie wasn't exactly unlimited? They had to use whatever locations they could find. Of course this part of the movie leaves out a lot that was in the books. But you can't squeeze in every word from the book into a 2 hour movie. Every movie from a book has this issue. Even LOTR movies didn't follow the books to the letter!
