  • 'i'd love to see colours like you'

  • So, so beautiful - would have made a great single

  • my love song ,super!!

  • My love song!!!!!!!!!!!!! i love Manics!!!!!!

  • hint, strings sound much better than the keyboards, keep this noted for future performances

  • tune totally brings me back to sept, driving around seattle a lot, looking for a place to park just before the Manics show. Did nothing but listen to them for two months before and after that show....and the whole 200-mile drive from portland to their show.

  • was there a documentary about the homecoming gig in 2002? i thought there was 1 on youtube ages ago...

  • I think there was on C4 years ago yeah. It showed them playing a pants acoustic version of 'Faster' with Nick Naysmith's OTT piano...

  • Beautiful song! Was this song written about Richie? Sorry if that's a stupid question!

  • Not a stupid question. They do have many songs about Richie, but I'm pretty sure this one is about the famous painter, Willem de Kooning and also named after one of his paintings.

  • @stewux super song !!

  • @stewux super song !!

  • This is a LOT better than There By The Grace Of God

  • beautiful song, the lyrics are bloody brilliant! I don`t know why but that song does something to me, listening to it almost hurts physically...

    MSP forever

  • one of the best manic songs out there total beautiful ( fear for laughter the future is now )

  • One of my favourite Manics songs.. Never new it was played like but James looks a tad bored, on record this is amazing

  • this is so beautiful

  • Wow, I didn't know they'd actually played this live. I saw them in 2002, they didn't play it then, and I never heard of a live version of it.

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I agree it is a beautiful song beuatiful lyrics. I cant adequatley describe my love for the manics, i have lovd their music and in some way they have shaped who I have become. JDB is a genuine genius

  • I wasn't keen on the studio version of this song, but like a number of other Manics songs (The Everlasting; Motown Junk; Tsunami) the live performance really shines. Absolutely beautiful.

  • All my best wishes are just lies

    Are just lies

    Sun breaks and cloudbursts

    The hardest of all words

The conflict of sin all kept within

  • the emotional depth of this song is amazing

  • Bloody heartbreaking, brilliant.
