If you ever read this John I would like to say you guys rock! and thank you for the good times I've had listening to your music.
Last night my father told me about how he spent weeks frantically trying to get his hands on a copy of "Fear of the Sky" years ago here in Ontario. but since then we've probably listened to it through and through hundreds of times (including 2 times last night) and I can easily say it's one of the best albums I have ever had the pleasure of listening to.
if you saints read this, thanks for the good times. I was at U of O for my 5 years... spent too much time at Taylors watching you guys and the Strangers. Good bands. I lost my fear of the sky CD years ago, found one at cd world 3 days ago, track 3 and 6 touch me. I had a room by the window, sun burned through my hangovers big time, I know the feeling. Keep on keepin on!!!!!! Great Songwriting. Just know you guys have a lot of fans, I know a bunch of them. Do you have a website? New music?
Slow to respond to this, sorry. Thanks for the kind words. Yes we do have new music. A live album called Mercy Saints Alive! We're very happy with it; it captured our live sound accurately and favorably. Some fave hits, and some newer stuff. Al is a shredder, of course! It's available at CDBaby.com We have a mySpace profile /renegadesaintsmusic
@johnshipe I'll have to check out that new album, Fear of the Sky is one of my favorite albums. There are some songs one there that are the kind that seem like they were written for you and about you, Delivered, Window, 1968, Know by Now and Deep End. Damn sounds like my life story wrapped up in 5 songs when I listen to them.....
@rixpix311 Ahhh I marvel at the dark existential thoughts we had in those days. How did we ever get through them? :-) Thanks for letting us know you were moved by the material. "Delivered" was mostly written by Walker, minister's son, capable of tapping into a toweringly biblical sort of language--and an epic hook to go with it. I still get requested for it, and play it solo acoustic.
Is this the Renegade Saints?? Big smiles! Used to watch these guys every time they'd play at John's Alley in Moscow, Idaho back in the early 90's. If the person who posted this was/is in the band: Thank you for the tunes. It was a wonderful salve.
Well, there is indeed some rather incriminating video of us, but I hesitate to post it... if you know what I mean. Fashion-wise, I've worked so hard to restore my dignity all these years :-)
That makes 2 of us. Jason Toribio game me a tape of Mission District that has long since died. I had a funeral for it..
Grew up listening to Al playing at his mom's house North Bend. This was a nice find. Allen don't look any different than the last time I saw him probably 16 years ago....great guitar player!
