Mostly the reason why business dump is because if they lower the price to meet decreasing demand, competitors that couldn't previously can now enter the market. Often the situation arises that businesses have a larger net present value buy maintaining a high price and selling less units than if they were to temporarily sell more units at lower prices and give up their strategic advantage. Giving to charity doesn't make much sense as it decreases the demand for existing goods and services.

Great video. It seems we are almost helpless in a way. We must do what we can to support local farmers. My wife and I are part of the don't buy anything new club, as many companies enslave children to keep the price low for the Walmart shopper, which sucks as I am a huge fan of VS. We also fight to make sure GMO labeling is done on our foods, and rBGH labels on milk. If we join groups and don't support these evil empires they will dry up eventually. We must get active.
