@phreaktor1 The Duratrax is nice... the rider is Lexan so it's not as heavy on top as these... also, this isn't the ideal surface for the tires these bikes come with... they need fuzzys or step-pin type tires for this dry, slippery, hard-packed stuff... these larger bikes work VERY well on grass and high-traction dirt with a little depth to it... the big knobbies need something to grab onto... also the ARX now has an electronic brushless gyro, so it's ROCK-solid at all speed and surfaces too
@phreaktor1 i agree the anderson M5 is a great bike as well and it has no trouble at all staying up and has plenty of power its still fast and only like 260 bucks on ebay they are nice when the arx540 cost 1000 or more
@Jsparrow350 They've gotten better... My ARX has a brushless gyro in it now and it rocks... and now I also have the Venom bike and it's really good too... you just have to know how to set them up and how to drive them... and you have to know your surfaces... once the surface become slippery, the bikes wobble to compensate because of the self0centering steering and the forces against the gyro.... when there is traction, the bikes are actually pretty good now
@akura2 The Venom VMX with the new steel Gyro is a BIG hit. Just use tire glue on the spur cover and you can go through mud water etc. Way cool scale bike
They don't seem to handle very well. The Duratrax DX450 is 1/3 of the cost and is rock steady at all speeds. Then again, it is a Duratrax, so it has it's issues. Super fun though and 1/5th scale.
Cool! The Ricky bikes looked pretty useless, but the ARX540 is great! If the prices get a bit lower, maybe I'll get one.. At Ebay, they cost around 1000$ and thats a little too much for me:S
Well the ARX is the only one that was making laps in the video and the track was dry... not only does the bike work brilliantly when the ground has more traction... it also jumps very well... if you are into off-road, AND into motorcycles, these bike are really nice... if you aren't into either then you wouldn't see the point...
I used to be really into motorbikes, through my dad. But these just don't seem to replicate the fluid motion you get on a bike, they just seem unstable and jerky, fair enough, I'm sure they are fun, but you have to admit they do look stupid!
easy... you can add an 11.1v LiPo to it or a more powerful motor... my bike was running on 9.9V from an A123 LiPo pack and a Castke Creations 5700Kv motor
