  • perfect! :)

  • Hey top!

you're skills are admirable... Id like to get my scratching skills good enough so that I can enjoy it. what cartridges do you use? and how often do you replace them...

lastly whats a good way to practice basic flares.

  • @dothedamnthang2 Thanks! I use Shure 447s and Ortofon Qberts. They get replaced when they start to really wear out, dust builds up quicker, tracking isnt as great. It depends how often you use them.

Watch a ton of how to videos and practice all the time. Sometimes scratches are instant, sometimes it takes years. The basics are the most important, just learn to have control of the record at any speed. Its all patterns.

  • NAIS!

  • Coming from a Rane mixer it takes some time to get used to but the mixer seems reliable. I`ve noticed tho that when I tested the fader after putting the master volume all the way up and the cross-fader to the other side I would hear a little bit of bleeding. Is this normal?

  • @djstorm1987

Yeah its a nice mixer for the price, sounds great and the fader is cool. As far as the fader, Im not sure if thats normal. I think it means the fader is starting to bleed. Ive heard it happens after heavy use with the pro-x-fade. You have to open the mixer and take out the fader to adjust/fix it.

  • how are the upfaders compared 2 proxfader

  • @defcreator

Just your typical upfaders like you would find any other mixer.

  • Fantastic MIXER !!!!!

     I love my XONE 02!!!!

  • @pmscompany

No doubt, the sound is definitely top choice!

  • Thanks for the great advice. I'll try to implement everything and just keep practicing.

  • Yeah man.. its all patterns, twiddles, crabs, flares, stabs, etc. Practice each one over and over. More importantly though, learn how to control the platter in very slow and fast movements. The baby scratch is the base of all scratches. Pretty soon it will all click one day. Keep rocking!

  • nice cuts

    peace

  • Thanks!

  • Hi man,

    Nice vid.

I've just got myself a NS7 and I'm trying to learn basic scratching so I can enhance my events for when it comes down to Top 40 stuff.

Could u give me some tips/advice in how to handle the crossfader or positioning my hands for the different xfader techniques?

    Thanks

  • Thanks! Check out DJAngeloUk on youtube, hes got a really good scratch tutorial list. Also make sure your setup is at a comfortable height so you neck and back dont hurt. You'll be practicing the same scratch pattern over and over.

  • As far as the crossfader, its really up to you and what feels right when moving the fader back and forth. Try holding it like you would hold a pen so to speak. Just whatever gives you the most control.
