I'm so frick frack fruckin' fuddermuckin excited about this, but dammit, even this kickass trailer alone isn't enough to restore my faith in Bethesda after the travesty that was New Vegas. Great game, catchy story, but too damn small, and exploration was severely hampered thanks to over-use of invisible walls. Compare Morrowind to Daggerfall and Oblivion to Morrowind. Oblivion and Morrowind are two of my all-time favorite games ever, but the worlds just keep getting smaller and more limited.

I wonder how this will effect the choice of races we get in Skyrim since the country of Skyrim appears to be all Nords from what i pick up about it while playing Oblivion.

@Atheistprimate i don't think the choice of races will be affected at all. i mean, we had all races playable in morrowind, wich was all about the dark elves, if you remember correctly. and at least 2 of skyrim's major cities are very important trade and commerce harbors. at least in those cities vital for commerce you are bound to find members of the other races.

@Timberwolftrass One reason i suspect we will only be offered the choice of male or female Nord is if they have the main character speak in game like we see in ME2 and DA2, they simply cant fully voice a half dozen different races with both sexes and not have it add massive bloat to the game folder as sound files tend to be large and production costs having to hire so many voice actors to go over what would be a rather huge script.

I don't mind, mute main character has always seemed weird.

think about it. does the voice really matter? why should the recorded voice limit you to one race only? i don't think that they are going for any kind of accent or slang in the player voice, which means that it doesn't matter which race you are. you know what i'm saying?

@Atheistprimate They in oblivion had several voice actors who were for 'that race' that they used. and they were pretty much all the same, and they re-used many of them for the elves. so it's entirely possible, but still plausible only power words, generic grunts will be used, et cetera
