Yeah for the shank tip, its ok to use some wrist to get a little bit more power in the stoke, but try holding the stick with your index finger and thumb and use the rest of your fingers as a trigger to control the rebound. This really helps with all tip cause the rebound is much bigger. let me know how it goes!
How long should I practice just the hi-hat technique in my right hand? I only do it for a couple minutes at a time, but it doesn't seem to improve...
I thought maybe I'm holding the stick wrong? It looks like the way you hold the stick and manipulate it changes when you speed up. Could you talk about how to properly hold the stick... I know how to hold it, but I'm probably not doing it with proper technique.

but its slow, any tips on speeding it up as fast as you do in the video?
Is it ok to use your wrist, or should you try and use only your fingers and keep your wrist from moving too much?
