I don't get how someone can afford a $300 + computer but not the high speed internet for $40 a month. Don't ask the government to help you, YOU need to take control of your finances. Google "How to create a budget", and I guarantee the 2 hour wait for the page to load (dial-up) will solve your problem. Better yet, if your son is doing research papers, he is old enough to get a part time job and go half on the gruesome $40 bill per month!

so sad. i'm crying now. not that she doesn't have internet, but that her children can't use the internet at school (especially the college) and that they don't have access to a public library with free internet. I can't believe they are forced to suffer 56K download speeds. How will her sons ever become good gamers? It isn't possible at 56k. so sad.
