s this really a good idea for paitned turtles? Does it harm them in any way? Because in the summer this seems like a good thing to do with them. Does it help their shell/overall health?

Heh. I'm from Vegas. Hearing you say that "Over 60" is "really warm" almost made me do a spit-take LoL. For me, "really warm" is above 90.

They seem very excited to be outside.

OMGosh! U let all 3 go at one time!? Are U crazy? Thats how i lost MY Baby RES Turtle Dove 4 weks ago!!! PLSSSSSS be careful!!!! It just takes 1 sec. and there GONE GONE GONE!! It happen to me and i don't want it to happen to u. Its the most awful feeling we feltt like we lost a Family member. My Mom cried I cried! UGH! But ur Turtles are so cute!! and so are u!!! Have Fun! @MultiHamsters101 well for one it could be stressed out or it could be sick if its sick all u have to do is keep it warm and if thats not the case try swiching its food if your feeding it still food feed it moving food like worms if its somthing moving just feed it floting food

so it has to be at least 65 degrees outside but what is the maximum temperature they can be in outside because where i live it is like 90 degrees or so outside like almost all summer so...is that too hot for a turtle to be playing outside in?????

I used to have a baby snapping turtle but I put him in his "while I clean his tank" tank outside and some animal bit his head off. He was exactly 1 year old. They laid eggs close to our cabin and I saved him from a raccoon that tried grabbing him, took him home then a year later to the day, something else got him.

If you let them all out at once, make sure you've got eyes like a hawk, cause they disappear really quick! Careful they don't get lost. (:

Hey Steele Tate, I have a question. I wen't to petco the other day to just look at turtles and I saw white spots, I know thats bad, but is there a way to get rid of them should I think about buying one. Or should I look at Petsmart?

@Ktfunsizednarly ~ I suggest you visit a locally owned pet store or look for a local breeder, plus you can go to a reptile show in your area (google it). This provides a better buying experience and allows you to form a relationship with someone who cares. I prefer to support my local store owner, which has several benefits and most likely a healthier new turtle. I only visit a national chain pet store for simple cheap supplies, but not to buy turtles.

@Ktfunsizednarly it is a condition called shell rot if you give them antibiotics it will slowly heal, but if they are in that condition it is best to go to a breeder or someone you trust.

Hey SteeleTate! I love doing this... My turtles enjoy the sun so much. I usually put them out while I do things to their tank, if needed. I think I have a video of my turtles outside... If not, I'll put one up. :D

Every minute there outside even on a clowdy day there getting more Uva/Uvb then they ever will with an artificial light. If you want to take them outside you should make an outside pond so they can get out and bask and get back in when they get too warm. Very good video though :)
