looks inspirational i mean we in the western world uk, usa, australia, canada, new zealand and so on get good education once we drop out it will be become difficult to be successful because we neeed knowledge to make it. But it is not the end we could go on american idol or x factor or get a football/soccer contract but how many people actually win
hey ive seen this bcause the first guy rodneey walker came to my school nd he gave us a sneak preview..it was badd ass nd it shows how much shit goes on that we dont know about..i recommand seeing this film when it comes out
Actually xenniex2, we have one of the best. Look at Africa, parts of Asia such as Vietnam, Cambodia, and Middle East. We are lucky to have this education system we just aren't taking it to full advantage.
menonthemovemovie, this is true, however the cost of this education is very very high do to government regulation, teachers unions, etc.
One should consider these cost when making a decision. Keep in mind that you can get better education with $7.65 in late fees from the library, and a little discipline. Coupled with a nice internship, you should do quite well, with little debt and far more experience than a graduate student.
LOl ; but great video, shows the mortality that kids of all color should try hard to do anything that they want to do. And the ones who did drop out, still havedreams they can accomplish.
Today's news says nearly 1 in 4 American children don't have a secure source for all their meals (that means some days they go to school hungry, some nights they go to bed hungry, sometimes they don't eat at all). How are you going to do well in school when you are living in a parked car and eating out of a dumpster?
I was too scared to drop out. I knew my mama would beat my ass, take a nap, wake and drink a red bull mixed wit coffee, then beat my ass again.
The system got people scared to whip they kids when it's obviously what they need. They let their kids do whatever, then wonder why they're stuck raising their kid's kid, and why their kid cant get a good job.
So the only reason to why you didn't drop out was so that your mom wouldn't beat you up? Then she has already failed with you. Don't think that beating up your kids will solve any problems.
Mumfin, I dont think diah4 means that the only reason he (or she) didnt drop out of school was because of his mom beating him up. I know from experience that giving your a "whipping" while their young teaches them a lesson, and I think thats what he's saying here. His mom obviously hasnt failed him since he didnt drop out.
kids drop out because it's hopeless out here. Have u seen it? not that they are stupid, lazy, etc, but they see that it's about money in america point blank! Money can either buy it, make it right, and if there's a problem do like america does and throw MONEY at the problem to make it go away cuz money dam sure will make it go away if u got enough! We dont like it but it is as it suppose to be becuz as a whole we let it get that fuckin out of hand, this is good but this aint gonns stop it!!
What an amazing film. I brought three of my friends to see it in Boston, and they loved it. One of my friends (all in their mid-20's) who has been thinking about starting a business for the past 2 years said this was the "kick in the pants" that he needed. All ages have something to gain from seeing it.
I plan to attend either tonight, tomorrow, or on Thursday. I really want to see this film. I wanted to watch it this past weekend but I had so much work. I will go watch it though.
You can't be anything without work. You run half a mile and wonder why your olympic gold medal isn't waiting for you, so you quit. The key to winning is never quit. It doesn't take a lot of work, it only takes a little work consistantly. You can't be or have anything in life because you want it, you have to make it happen.
What's considered "dropping out"? Where I lived you weren't allowed to "drop out". That wasn't an option. Well, you could if you were 18. If you sucked at high school, you would be sent to continuation school. I was sent to that in my last few months of high school, just because of something I said. The really bullshit part was that it was harder there, because I had to deal with independent study, which requires you to learn almost everything from reading instead of lectures.

Everything up to 0:46, at least, can be applied to staying in school every bit as much as dropping out.
"I went all throughout my life feeling like I've been cheated."
"You have a life ahead of you and it's a waste of time to just [stay/stand?] here and do nothing with it."
"See, my brother, he didn't make it out."
"One day, your struggle's gonna prepare you for greatness."
"I don't wanna end up falling through the cracks...with the regret...of not fulfilling my purpose."

when compared to every other country out there, including poor, developing countries, etc., our educational system is not really that bad.

You have to stay in school. Advanced degrees are even more important today in this job market.
