Of course all native peoples support distinct culture status and individual nationalism for the same.
Quebec independence kicks open the door and gives native claims NUKE fire power in federal negotiations.
I'm of Métis decent myself and part Míkmaq. When the Fortress of Louisbourg fell my ancestors (The Blanchard Family/Mothers side) were deported to France in spite of their loyalty half breeds were not exactly welcome there.
I realize plenty how much land they claim considering I use it in federalist pro-partition arguments all the time. English Canadians that like to mention the First Nations in Québec should also secede if Québec does need to realize what kind of monster they are awaking.
Québec only has 8% of the canadian native population. English Canada has the big bulk of the natives. (I believe they claim up to 75% of BC's territory)
Québec does a good job while the federal lags behind.
Québec was the first in Canada to sign agreements with the first nations of Northern Québec.
Québec was also the first to recognize their territory and offer autonomy to the Inuits of Nunavik also in northern Québec.
There were members of the first nations elected as MP's for the Bloc Québecois and the Parti Québecois, the last being Alexis Wawanoloath elected in 2007 as an MP for Abitibi-Est for the Parti Québecois.
Guys, France and the UK are currently in an Economic Union along with a great many other very distinct cultures.
As the world unites this guy is talking separation. A free Quebec would be very damaging to Canada. Would it be good for Quebec?
I understand the desire to preseve Quebec culture and language but France has done fuck all in that regard. They sold their North American holdings to the Yanks.
Separation doesn't bar Québec from ratifying economical unions. Québec will be a member of ALENA and probably many other existing unions, on top of having the liberty to sign other unions.
Separation does not necessarily mean not uniting.
Besides, use examples as you see fit and don't mention the most recent article in international news: Kosovo's newly proclaimed independence.

What it says is that one anglophile Prime Minister proposed an UNION between the 2 countries.
What is also says is that never was the french population polled about this, they only learned of that proposition decades later and were pretty much appalled by it.
I was misled to believe you were american when you are in fact british so I will take some of my last comment back. Although this changes nothing about France not owing anyone anything.
Never should your involvement in the 2 world wars make France your perpetual lackeys, a sub country of England that couldn't use its veto power without their consent.
It is much easier for Britain to claim to be France's saviours when they're on their island shipping off soldiers rather than being right next to the enemy.
If you are telling me that our great/grand-parents fought in the same war on the same side and that I should as a result feel like I owe YOU something, I'd tell you to go fuck yourself. You weren't there to live it, you didn't fight in it, I owe you nothing. Certainly not about to bow down to someone like you and pass on my ability to veto something I feel should be.
You are so full of goddamn british shit. You say "we", when you should say "they". You didn't fight, you are an absolute nobody. You claim France is free because of you? Laughable claim. Even if it is, this freedom comes with it's associated rights. Never in any treaty was France made "free but must kneel before England".
Here is what every french person owe YOU : a punch right in the middle of the eyes. I know your british roots dictate it, but get off your damn high snobbish horse a little bit and stop pretending you actually accomplished anything.
what IS not what you meant, you said your french friends believe Quebecois are old fashioned, I am telling you they are not.
Sorry if I associate old fashioned with conservative, I do not know how else I could see it. Perhaps you could give me, or ask youe french friends to give me a reason why they believe Québécois are 'old fashioned'.
Hey!
Question de préserver notre language.
Beau document!

Canada is not like the USA. We don't write history to make ourselves look like Gods gift to humanity.

I was misled to believe you were american when you are in fact british so I will take some of my last comment back. Although this changes nothing about France not owing anyone anything.
Vineon 4 years ago
it just how educated u really are not only did we help in the liberation of France in
WW2 but also WW1 were so many brave British and commonwealth soldiers died in the trenches and battlfeilds of france
I think they owe us alot
guardspara07 4 years ago
They owe you absolutely nothing.
Never should your involvement in the 2 world wars make France your perpetual lackeys, a sub country of England that couldn't use its veto power without their consent.
It is much easier for Britain to claim to be France's saviours when they're on their island shipping off soldiers rather than being right next to the enemy.
Nothing at all to do with education.

Vineon 4 years ago
You are so full of goddamn british shit. You say "we", when you should say "they". You didn't fight, you are an absolute nobody. You claim France is free because of you? Laughable claim. Even if it is, this freedom comes with it's associated rights. Never in any treaty was France made "free but must kneel before England".
Vineon 4 years ago
Here is what every french person owe YOU : a punch right in the middle of the eyes. I know your british roots dictate it, but get off your damn high snobbish horse a little bit and stop pretending you actually accomplished anything.
Vineon 4 years ago
no they us their gratitude
also one of their presidents wanted to join the United Kingdom and be part of our country
so u can top yourself
guardspara07 4 years ago
u don't owe me anything ure right but France owes my country alot and the way she treated has treated Britain it is absolutely disgraceful
guardspara07 4 years ago
Give me an example of what was so disgraceful.

just let u kno I kno quite alot of french ppl who love in london and they all agree with me and also
they think that french canadians like ureself are
oldfashioned inbred little fukcers
guardspara07 4 years ago
Care to tell me how I AM old-fashioned?? I am anything but a conservative person.
YOU are the one bringing ages old arguments to support your claim that France should bow down to England and kiss their british feet.
I'm sure you know a lot of french people that love London, I am pretty sure I would love London as well.
I really doubt they agree that they dont have the right to veto you guys because you were allies in the same war however.
Vineon 4 years ago
Just to let you know, I know many french people living in Québec that love the place and assimilated well.
Vineon 4 years ago
that sod De Gaulle vetod us
'm not calling u old fashioned but thats the general opinion of french ppl they told me
we never wanted to be part of their country
they did want to be part of ours
I would have said yes
guardspara07 4 years ago
Shows how they don't know shit. Québec has been a leftist territory for decades now. Ever since the Quiet Revolution.
I have as much a high opinion of french snobs as I do of brit snobs. God knows both countries are full of them.
"I would have said yes" thanks for proving my statement.
If France believe it is in their right interest and if it is the will of their population to veto anything, they should veto.
Vineon 4 years ago
LOL thats not what i meant
guardspara07 4 years ago
what IS not what you meant, you said your french friends believe Quebecois are old fashioned, I am telling you they are not.
Sorry if I associate old fashioned with conservative, I do not know how else I could see it. Perhaps you could give me, or ask youe french friends to give me a reason why they believe Québécois are 'old fashioned'.

KxAlexP 4 years ago

KxAlexP 4 years ago
KxAlexP 4 years ago
Question de préserver notre language.
KxAlexP 4 years ago
HawkFest 4 years ago
KxAlexP 4 years ago
Shame on you...
boypof 4 years ago
