  • Spätestens bei Left Wheel und Right Wheel wäre ich vermutlich in die falsche Richtung gelaufen.

  • Long has it been in the eyes of men since I stood on a field of battle and heard the clear call of the Bugle! Brings tears to my ancient eyes. :'-(

  • This brings back strange stirrings and feelings for me. I seem to recall these sounds very well. Long has it been since I have heard the sound of the bugle calling men to battle.

  • I imagine following this in a war scene and man...acting out the orders is tiring, especially after having lunch..

  • Das könnt ich alles nochmal so gut...

  • 2:34 and 3:33 french classics

  • If you already have a bugle....... BIN it.

  • O i forgot u also notice he is the first one shot

  • Ahhh the most despised man in the service!!!! The Bugular. Also u notice that during westerns when the Cavalry charges how loud and annoying that thing could be then when he gets shot u root for the Indians for knocking off that racket

  • My favorite has to be the call to attention. Simple, but nice.

  • Excellentd!

  • turn it upside down and it will sound beter, air will travel fast going down, instead up having to go up

  • @guitarhero31333 it will have to go down eventually. with that philosophy, turn it on its side.

  • Is he really German? His English is flawless!

  • yes! i knew without reading the description he was german by his accent... no really i did

  • How the hell can anybody memorize all these calls?

  • @Benajah1759 He can. But I agree, I think it's very difficult

  • @Benajah1759 by smoking less pot

  • I have just brought an 1885 bugle, french,

I was looking for an english 1.

    Still sounds great though

  • the bugle is upside down

  • @MrWonka12 Actually the bugle is not upside down... that's how the German trumpeters hold it...

  • Que feo toca

  • I hate the way he thinks he can play these! I'm 14 and even I can reach those higher notes that he isn't

  • @cornetifb Good for you.

  • Can you upload the corrections? That would be great.

  • what if the bugler got shot?? =P

  • @loro333 Someone would have a sore throat at the end of the day

  • @NLFonsseals Thats what he said.

  • I'm really interested in bugle calls. Strange that one bugler could give orders to thousands of man :D

  • Why is it that some calls gets muted? It isn't very good that the sound dissapears sometimes you know! Just so you know I mean...oh well, you could at least hear the most important call...Breakfeast call! ;D

  • @KEGST otherwiseit was ok, really liked hearing you play! Keep up the good work! (^_^)

  • Umm, that sounds like a B♭ bugle, but is it a G bugle?

  • y does the song cut

  • its hard to believe others could remember so many tunes. other bugalars must have listened and reprted to officers too..

  • I am thinking of getting a bugle and learning the common calls for scout camp outs and such, which brand or type is preferred? will the $40 ebay ones work?

  • get a rexcraft bugle thats wat i got. im a bsa bugler2&im going caving this weekend&im gonna play bugle @camp

  • Foehammer, goo with a @ Valves G Bugle, $40 ebay ones are alright. Go with (if you can) an Olds.

  • @Foehammer54 im a scout bugler and i have a world war 1 bugel and it works fine

  • @Foehammer54 search merano bugle on sears dot c o m 20 bucks and it works great low pitch though.

  • @Foehammer54 any hood musician can turn the worst made instrument sound professional.

  • @Foehammer54 i just use a trumpit

  • @threewoodenxs its trumpet dumbazz

  • @threewoodenxs yeah same here, a little bit easier for me

  • @Foehammer54 I just got an old fox hunting bugle at a horse tack sale yesterday for a dollar. and it works for playing just fine. xD

  • @Foehammer54 I saw this great bugle in New York at the USS intrepid Museum gift shop

  • Note sure of the USA Bugle which appears to be a cross bred between a bugle and trumpet in style.

A British Army Bb Bugle has five notes and the British Cavalry Eb Trumpet has severn.

  • Beautiful. Thank you. I'm saving this to show my grandchildren who love trying to blow a bugle and don't have a clue. I have them on video, but we laugh because they are so bad. They need to see what a real bugler can do!

  • I suppose you're a regular Louis Armstrong, then?

  • A German citizen, member of a French association and reenacting an American bugler from civil war. ^^

That's a good thing, since there were German and French soldiers fighting on each side,

    during that war.

  • das finde ich gu t

  • Mich auch!

  • and how does that matter?

  • cheeseman, your half right.

    and... half wrong.

it can only go 8 notes. but the reason he can do all the things he can do is because of the octaves - every 8 notes it changes and octave.

  • I thought a bugle could only play the harmonic progressions ... e.g every not on open if you look at it in relation to the trumpet

So, technically a bugle should only be able to play C G and E ... and depending on the the players range, thats only 3 notes from each octave

  • actually, any brass instrument can play the overtones, in order: c, c, g, c, g, c, e, g,b-flat, c and further, all the chromatics higher, depending on the skills of the player

if you include lip bending, a player can play all the chromatics within range

  • so a good bugle player should be like an extroadinary trumpet player?

  • how do u do that? i've juz got a bugle n i can't do shit with it

  • how do u play it without keys?

  • You buzz your lips faster or slower to get the different notes. Unfortunately, that means that bugles can only get 6 or 7 different notes.

The other way to change pitch is by altering the length of the tube using valves or a slide. A trumpet, therefore, is like 7 bugles in 1. Each combination of keys you push down is like a different bugle, and from each combination you can get a bunch of notes by changing lip pressure.

  • But a trumpet's notes also differ from the bugle because its airway is different with the valves in the way of the air flow, as a bugle has nothing to block the airway. If you just had all the valves on a trumpet unpressed, you would not be able to get as many notes on it as the bugle, that does not have any valves at all. So, you could probably get as many notes on the bugle, as you could on the trumpet, or atleast close to.

  • all the light infantry drill is commanded by the bugle.

  • good vid - you never know when you might need to know a bugle call

  • just the other day I was saying how I wish I had a bugler handy to get the message to my wife to bring me a beer!

  • Interesting! thanks for sharing

  • hes really chocky on the high notes

  • bugles are hard XD

  • u got that rite XP

  • great
