I don't think we can get Hershey's chocolate syrup in England, but the Messy Marvin idea would probably work today. The water wiggle was advertiesed under a different name in England this summer, but probably wasn't popular due to the flash floods. Starburst are still here, and so is Barbie, she will be 50 in March 2009, and doesn't look a day older than 25! lol.

Ugh...the early '80s were full of commercials with "liquid gum": Chewels, Tidal Wave, even A&W had some licensing agreement for gum that "squirted" when you chewed it. Even as a kid, I found it disgusting.

Yep! I had a relative who set The Clapper up to control his Christmas tree lights in the 80s, and when they ran the model train they had set up around the tree, the clicking as it went over the tracks made the tree lights turn on and off :)

I remember most of these. Especially the He-Man one with the Dragon Blast Skeletor and the kid freezes too. I thought that was silly back then. Also the clapper. The TV is the wrong place to put it. Just say you're watching a good game, they score, you start clapping, the tv turns off and on. If you have the clapper for your lights, just hope the commercial dosen't come on!
