  • Just use a sledge hammer. The effect is far more dramatic and funny.

  • That was very stupid to smash that monitor screen indoors.

When the glass screen is crushed, the lead-bearing particles become an airborne hazard. Those hazardous particles will be released into the surrounding area, and a leaching process occurs as a result. These toxic materials can eventually find their way to you, and they will be absorbed through your lungs and skin.

  • was expecting something much more dramatic...

  • Yeah! Just like the high heel break... But Katrin's high heel was tough tool...

  • Lol, just lol.

  • would have been funny if her ankle snapped

  • Are you sick? Obviously you must be to wish something horrible like that on someone. Obviously you have never suffered a serious injury like that.

  • Sexy boots,get them harder!

  • wow hard shoes

  • omg how bas is she she takes 3 min 37 to get only true the glas

  • She took 1 min 37 sec to break through the screen. However, probably some of video was cut off by the author.

  • Gasp!

  • would love to be that screen

  • And I would like to remake this experiment as high-heeled drag queen :D

  • Black-and-white (monochrome) screen would be easier to smash with your stiletto, Katrin. Because B&W tube doesn't have metal mask behind the screen. B&W screen can be smashed almost like a normal (but thick) window glass pane and it breaks simultaneously the whole to many pieces (with breaking glass clear sound). Never try this with old technology tubes without anti-implosion devices!

  • right..

  • wtf

  • That is a biohazard. You should be dead.

  • maybe some wooden platforms would be great. I like to watch how heels are getting scratched after crushing sharp objects. I just love hard used platform shoes. If someone can deliver video like that, please let me know!!

  • i love the idea of crushing monitor, but I prefer platform shoes. So if you make something like that with platforms I`ll kiss you legs!!! =)

  • Platform shoe can easy break the plastic monitor case and many inside parts. But I think it is almost impossible to break quite thick glass screen with wide platform heel. So the platform sole and heel should be made of steel, as the tip of Katrin's high heels. Moreover, it's more beautiful to see the screen smashing gradually and hitting after hitting. Not in one smashing massive hitting.

  • Many questions arise, after watching this video...the most obvious one being, "What the hell are stilletos made of?!" sheesh... but most importantly, why did I watch this...? lol

  • My first questions were exactly the same as yours. Simply we love the power and the toughness of female high heel over the ordinary and poor things.

However, I've heard about the girl who broken her high heel during... popping balloons with heels in the ballroom.

  • ???

  • One more my question. Why did she crack the plastic case of monitor a few times with her stiletto? I can see it at the start of the video.

  • Hi Nonrem! Only the tip of the heel was made of steel. The heel actually got a bit scuffed up, but it was easily fixed by rubbing down and heel renew paint. I don't know why she smashed the plastic. maybe to show how easy it was?

  • OK. Thanks for reply. Moreover, I don't understand why did she smash the case with the hammer at the end of video. She can also finish it with her stiletto.

  • Now I wonder if I could smash CRT monitor screen with some MALE shoe heel. I think it's difficult. Maybe only cowboy shoe heel can smash and crack the screen (especially the heel has metal nail).

  • I don't think the glass would break with male shoe heels. It was difficult enough for her while wearing stilettos.

  • Oh my God! Such a tough and durable high heel! Is your high heel made of steel? Unbelievable! How did you do it?

  • WARNING! !!

break a monitor CRT may be very dangerous because of the high vacuum into the cathode ray tube! It may IMPLODE with flying glasses proiection around.

    Dont try again !

  • Well implosion by definition means projection of glass in rather than around, but you are right in one sense, we won't be trying this again.

  • Present (modern, not of 60's) CRTs have the vacuum, but are made for most of possible safety. For example, the steel band around the screen-cone connection is one of the anti-implosion protections. Otherwise, CRTs couldn't be used in cars, buses, seismic areas without the risk of serious injury.

I don't to persuade to make the next "experiments" like this, but don't forget about my and Zenimator's superb responses ;)

We all know that stilettos power is fetish, not pop-science experiment :)

  • OK. But old CRTs projected pieces of glass AFTER REFLECTION each from other. First, The pieces going together, of course.

  • Rather boring, but them things are stronger than you think.

  • like it

  • This seems a bit fake.

The moment you put a spike through that monitor, you will hear a large amount of air sucking into that vacume. So eiether you've snaped the neck of it (which makes the monitor easier to open) or the monitor has imploded. Monitor glass is at least 1 inch thick, and it is coated with metal inside!

  • You sound quite an authority on monitor glass but you were quite wrong about this one! I measured the glass and it is less than half an inch thick. Like I said she had to stamp on it loads of times to chip and crack the glass before it broke. Possibly it the air went in slowly beause it was already badly cracked by the time she broke a hole. Anyway, what you see is true. We didn't break the screen inside before and she did actually puncture the glass with the heel eventually.

  • I haven't believed too when I have seen it first time. But now I think it's not fake. The first cracks on the screen are good visible already after about 15 Katrin's hits. If the stiletto is tough and hard (and Katrin's stilettos seem to be), it's only the question of number and accuracy of the hits to puncture through the screen.

  • I think that most difficult thing for Katrin was to make these first cracks on the screen in one place, for make the glass weak. Then she was aiming to puncture through by splitting the chips of the glass. When she did through-and-through hole, the glass was already easy to break almost like a plastic.

I love this video and love Katrin's stillettos. So tough, so sexy, so dominant :)

  • In Polish is the proverb: The drop bores the rock. It's suitable for Katrin's high heel. But very hard drop in this situation.

  • Ms Sarah and Katrin, thank you for the mention in your introduction. I am very honored. So, it's true I did make an animation of a screen breaking with high heels on You Tube but it was of poor quality compared to this. I was always interested to see if this can be achieved with a spike heel. You are total sports to induldge my fanatsy, and for that I am very grateful.

  • i love science!
