One day out of.every week i spend looking for new bands from different genres(metal, hardcore, black metal, under ground rap etc..) and when i find a band like this it makes me extremely happy and fills my body and mind with inspiration for my life and my.own music projects. Music is truly the only.form of freedom in this world.
like a dead man forgot his keycode... the man wont honor his las appearance he needs to stumbler to the ice bucket pass out n wait... theres the girr w the keycard make shure she gots lottsa drugs n get her back nd me too, i gotta have a ham sandwich n passout
I should have turned to you and said "It's alright, darling someday you'll forget me" And your eyes would have welled up with tears I would have as well So these days, a wandering mind holds sway And hope is enough Sing with me Sing with me Will you cry out for me in your sleep Wasting what precious little time *we have had* Like a dead man trying to find life Against a bright moon, dark sky and city lights Like dead man trying to find life Against a bright moon, dark sky and city lights
It makes me sad that the attention span of the average music fan robs them of enjoying amazing soundscapes like this. People miss out on a LOT of brilliantly written music.
The lyrics to this song are just raw. Delicate and brutal all at the same time. It's like watching someone freeze to death in their own regrets. O_o This band is out of this world.
To be honest, the song was really ruined for me at 2:15, when they suddenly decided to ruin perfectly good ambience with scream. This isn't my genre, and I got this linked of /mu/, but it still disappointed me.
I think comparing rosetta with mouth of the architect does neither side justice. they doe belong to the same "genre" (in my opinion), but they both also have a very distinct sound...and i love both <3
If you are talking about old man gloom and zozobra, you might as well talk about the band all the guys in there came from, and by that I mean the greatest band in the world: ISIS
Found these guys after hearing they did a song with Brent Hinds from Mastodon. Freaking love this. I'll be checking out other related bands too (except High on Fire. tried that and didn't like it). Sludge Metal ftw.
What the hell just happened? I left the room halfway through the "mad as hell" bit from Network and came back to find this TOTALLY AWESOME song play. If it was a plot it work. I'm going to be checking out Mouth of the Architect for the rest of the night.
I got squishy when people spoke of Rosetta here. let's get the translation loss roster more well known everyone, ok? Giant Squid, The Ocean, Rosetta, Mouth of the Architect ... just get these kinds of bands out there!
I should have turned to you and said "It's alright, darling someday you'll forget me" And your eyes would have welled up with tears I would have as well So these days, a wandering mind holds sway And hope is enough Sing with me Sing with me Will you cry out for me in your sleep Wasting what precious little time *we have had* Like a dead man trying to find life Against a bright moon, dark sky and city lights Like dead man trying to find life
I love how there are three central thematic passages that they build up to, each as beautiful as the last. They're abrupt in transition, but so correct, and they follow the lyrics beautifully. Wow, this might be music I'd pay for.
Oh and Rosetta -- the greatest thing to ever happen to music -- they have the same 'epic', desperate and passionate sound on all their tracks, beautiful shit.
"desperate and passionate" is the most apt way I've ever heard anyone describe the similarity between these two bands. Untrained ears think they all sound the same, that it's all aggressive and therefore all the same. Rosetta like MotA have a certain pain behind their anger that most bands lack (besides Cult of Luna's Somewhere Along the Highway).
Do you have any more recommendations for bands that have that same kind of desperation?
It's a very unique feeling, listening to these bands, isn't it. Nice to meet someone with similar tastes :)
The only other bands I can think of with that sort of sound are Buried Inside (They may seem like just angry guys screaming, but if you really listen and read the lyrics to Chronoclast, you'll be engulfed by its raw emotion) and some Isis stuff.
Bands like Rosetta are few and far between, sadly. Let me know how you go with Buried Inside -- if you haven't already heard them.
@AstronautJ check out Arktika - "Heartwrencher" too. Very similar to Rosetta from Germany. I think Envy also has this quality you two are talking about.
Why can't we have more folks like you and underalus around here? You both have uncanny steadfast observation of musical power that is appreciated by so few. Many are quick to judge, but you both can listen with your heart and mind in a collective manner that should be respected. All should learn from both of you. These bands I have grown to love and admire give me the drive to compose my own music, in time I would love to share the feelings you two pass between intelligent minds.
this album destroys worlds

1) if you don't like the music, why are you wasting time hating it? just don't look for it.
2) those aren't the lyrics to this song. i'll post them in a second.

The vocals really add focus to the emotion of the song. I am a fan of heavy instrumentals and these vocals are not distracting.

@Hurt646 I agree in a way but his screams really almost channel his anger and passion that went into writing the song...
