For those who want to know it...

You can unlock Julius Mode when you get the second bad ending where Soma turns into Dracula.

Like WolfClan76 said you can then search for Alucard in the Demon Guests House where you first encountered him in the main Game ... Yoko is in her shop to be found

@Avankiri Mouse pointer. Of course, stylus-based games (TWEWY, Ninja Gaiden) are horrible to play, but in Dawn of Sorrow you only use the stylus in a few moments, then it's okay.

@IGeorge94 Np. To unlock Julius Mode you only need beat the Bad Ending (after defeating Aguni, go to the locked door in Garden of Madness, without Mina's Talisman, then Soma became Dracula and you unlock that mode)

Instead of the normal scene,you become evil and long story short,you unlock Julius mode.Which is how to play as Alucard,or as they call him-Arikado.But you have to find Alucard in Julius mode to unlock him as playable.

In this particular video however it is a hack that replaces Soma with Alucard, although some skills and weapons don't work with Alucard but I suppose that makes it ever so slightly more canon xD

@oclictis Of course. It's a great game. You can play first Aria of Sorrow, and then Dawn of Sorrow. By original I guess you mean Symphony of the night. These games I mentioned are the closest to SoTN, for the DS

@oclictis The NES games are really old to play. I mean, you have to be a hardcore fan of Castlevania. If you just want to know history and stuff, you can just find on the internet everything. Anyway, you can downloads roms and emulator (it's really easy) to play almost every game you like. I'd suggest you, if you don't have a PS(3), or an Xbox 360 you may download an iso of Symphony of the Night, and play to your computer. In my opinion that's the first game you have to play of Castlevania.

@oclictis I use ePSXe 1.7.0. It's about 15MB. But the iso could be up to 500MB. It plays perfectly every PS game on my computer. I don' know your system though, but I don't think you'd have a problem if you use it eventually

I actually bought Dracula X Chronicles for PSP cause I thought it had a remake of both Dracula X and SOTN, but it didnt. Ah, I've given up on the series and moved on. SOTN is a true gaming masterpiece - the likes we will never see again. The nintendo RPG-Castlevania games were good, but felt more like some kid's anime than "Interview with the Vampire". SOTN had that kind of feeling to it.

Symphony of the Night took the best graphics, sound and everything of the time and just crammed it into a side scrolling explororama with great characters to boot. You can cancel out of a hit if you hit, dodge, then hit. Just lettin' you know. Can be repeated numerous times. Get your timing up good enough and you can do some insane combos.
