  • linux distro is better

  • AWESOME!!!!!!!!!

  • fantastic. love it

  • Hackintosh rox! ihave it too ! with dell display

  • Really nice. You have both mac and pc on a very nice platform, strong components, a capable processor. Very nice...just don't take your rig to the genius bar if you have problems with the mac sub system. The genius bar guys will eat your computer right in front of you and then eat you after they are done with the computer. Nice build boss!

  • That's Awesome! I have almost an Identical Setup as you do... I am running Lion 10.7.2 with iCloud working Facetime, and Bluetooth trackpad. I am now curious about Parallels Check out my Video.

  • What are the over-clocking speeds?

  • What PSU did you use? Thanks :)

  • How does the 5770 work? I am getting the exact same card and I need to know if it is fully supported. Great video!

  • hey why when I boot it doesnt continue it stop with the apple..

sould I use somthing so they could continue to the installer

  • I like your work! :)

  • What camera did you film that with?

  • @PixelCounters Canon EOS 7D

  • Are you going to update to Lion with it? Will it be compatible?

  • @KadMac25 I will at some point...but then again, I'm in no rush. "Never touch a running system!" ;)

  • @gerritbot exactly....if it's not broke don't fix it!!! Just built my first hackintosh this weekend and its 1/3 the cost of a mac pro! Love mac OS, hate the way way way overpriced machines!

  • @phantumgrey They are overpriced but I love my Mac Pro, it's an amazing machine aesthetically and computationally. But, I love my Hackintosh also. Both are great machines.

  • hey how did you get ethernet working?

  • Hey can u help me, i have a p8p67 motherboard with a i7 2600k, and when i try to load up the andy boot from a disc i just get a black screen with a blinking underscore at the top left of the screen, if you could help me i would really appreciate it, PLEASE THIS IS DRIVING ME CRAZY

  • @MrDow84 have you set your mobo to boot from cd? It should just boot then. Try iBoot as well, but you must set your mobo to cd boot.

  • @gerritbot Hey i tried it but i still get a blinking underscore i set it to boot from the cd drive but i still get it, im not sure what it is, is there any other way you could help me

  • @MrDow84 are you sure your disc drive is connected? I don't know, it could be anything, really...I can't tell you, sorry. You might also try iBoot, iBoot legacy, or a linux live dvd, just to see if your mobo/cd are working alright.

  • @gerritbot i would love to show me how to build my own hackintosh . specs in my channel

  • @MrDow84 I havent heard of andys boot cd before so its probably not that popular use iboot that method is really popular!

  • @tino730 andys boot cd is for that board

  • does this use all the ram? i thought we could only install 32 bit osx...

  • @bedojo It's only the free version of Geekbench that runs ins 32Bit...the whole system runs at 64Bit, and can make use of all 16GBs of RAM.

  • hey i finnaly put tugueter my system same mobo i5 2500k but i can my ati 5830 any help witch pach did u use for ati 5 series ?

  • @djdanny900 I wouldn't be able to tell you, I have a different card...check the forums, and multibeast

  • i too have built a similar setup and let me tell you its a great ivestment! just wondering gerritbot what camera did you use to shoot the inside of your build at the beginning of the clip? it looks great!

  • @cooldw18 I used a Canon EOS 7D...a fine machine (and thanks!)

  • Stock Intel cooler? Oh dear better go for an aftermarket. I heard this one is terrible.

  • @0peppers 'course not...it's an EKL Nordwand (German design, their products are all mountain-themed)

  • @gerritbot Oh I see. My bad (^_^). It really looks a lot like the stock Intel that comes with the 980's.

  • nice i building a new i7 2600k hackintosh can you do a guia how to install ???

  • @djdanny900 there are lots of good and detailed guides here on youtube...check out for instance the one by lifehacker, and go to the forums at tonymacx86. All the info is there. I strongly advise to do your research though before building.

  • @gerritbot i have everything except for the motherboard i can decide witch one going to pick asus pro , deluxe ...oh gigabyte witch one you can recommended

  • @djdanny900 well my Asus P8P67 is working fine...I didn't need the Pro or whatever, just straight P8P67.

  • @gerritbot Actually with 2600k i7, the Asus boards work much better for this, esp. if you want to overclock.

  • WHHHHHAAAAAIIIII???? Build an amazing rig that can do and play anything just to install osx... Derp.

  • You got Bluetooth to work with the Hackintosh? Have you tried the magic tablet?

  • @KadMac25 built-in Bluetooth is working with this build. I'm using the Apple BT keyboard, and it works great. Mighty Mouse was sometimes a bit jumpy, but I didn't explore much, because I got myself a Logitech MX Performance, which uses its own radio frequency (great mouse by the way). If you're having trouble with on-board BT, many are having an easy success with a USB dongle.

  • Nice! I've been looking to build something like this recently. Glad to see a successful 2600K Hackintosh!

  • @IndyCub86 ...the i7's are a dream.... ;)

  • the whole cost ?

  • @Xalkfamily about €1,150

  • @gerritbot i like the build a lot but i would go with intel i7 950.... and gigabyte for motherboard it has less problems in hackintosh,,, but asus p8p67 is very good too...

would you recommend ati 6870? or to go with a gtx one ? with cuda acceleration and so on ?

cause i will use adobe products a lot ( photoshop, after effects ) and it would be faster rendering i think than an ati one...

  • @Xalkfamily oh and would you recommend this Gigabyte P67A D3 B3 (s1155, P67, DDR3)

or your asus i take back what i said i thought i was talking about p5 not 6 sorry...

  • @Xalkfamily why not go with i7? The new Sandy Bridge Asus boards are very compatible...and Core i7 2600 is great anyway. Check the forums to see about your setup, I can't say, since I can only try mine...people have made it work with gigabyte and i7 950.

  • @gerritbot

    I've ordered this system:

    650D

    i5-2500k

    Asus 560ti

    Asus p8p67

    Corsair A70

GTX 560ti is better than 6870. I use my PC for gaming.

  • @MultiMobii afaik, the GTX are harder to get to work under OS X...but then again, I don't know, since I haven't tried.

  • @gerritbot i7 2600 is stronger than i7 950 if i am not mistaken but i will choose nvidia instead of ati

  • how do you have so much money?! whatever you do, hire me

  • @dangly69 well the MacBook Pro is actually my girlfriend's...and I'm selling the iMac, since I now have the BlackMac. So it's not as decadent as it seems.. .;)
