Brando was one of the best actors ever, if not THE best actor ever. However, he was totally mis-cast as Jor-El, Jor-El has to be about as young as Clark is once he's established as Superman.
that new man of steel is going to be shit aswell..i dont no why they didn't go with the natural choice Tom Welling...even Chris Reeves said r.i.p that Tom was the best choice''
Brando was like "yeah, sure I will do this role. Assuming you pay me about 4 million dollars, I don't have to look at the script before at all, you have the lines I need to know somewhere where I can see them and basically I just show up for a few weeks and you pay me lots of money"
The studio says "absolutely" and then Brando does this scene and its really good.
Yes, he read from cue cards and at sometime he acted so natural !! Everyone think that it´s easer too read from cue cards and acting but is not !!
it´s actually harder than when u can your part and then acting ! Because u know what exactly to say and acting in the same time and emotionally u are more prepare !
The thing with Brando was that he was or had all kind of emotionally and natural control and balance in his acting ! Actually He never acted ,he just live it through the character !
All Brando haters are uninformed. He was the greatest actor ever. Any great actor today would say the same thing. He gave life to his characters in ways that nobody else ever had. He read cue cards sometimes, yes. But he still delivered astounding performances. He is to acting what Bob Dylan is to music. Without him, many would not exist today.
in the 1978 movie 'Superman' when the alien infant emerged from his space capsule he displayed a circumcised penis. The jews who control Hollywood never bypass any opportunity to brainwash the gullible masses into replicating their sadistic covenant ritual with Lucifer. Nobody who bears the mark of Lucifer is ever allowed to enter the presence of God.
@AwfulVague Just a heads up if you didn't know, even though Superman's penis is not shown in the comics, he was created by two Jewish men. Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. As for the circumcised penis being the mark of Lucifer. Your comment is the first I have ever heard of that.
@AwfulVague And you do realize that 'Jesus' is ultimately an Anglicization of the word Yeshua, which is a Hebrew, i.e. JEWISH, name, right? And it is only through this JEW that anyone can enter the presence of God, according to The Bible, right? And you also realize that circumcision was something that THE BIBLE said to do, right? Oh, you didn't? Glad to educate you. Now please shut the idiocy up and watch the Kryptonians.
@amperro Not without the energy from a hotter, yellow sun. The part where they have him picking up a truck as a toddler is at complete odds with later canon.
@torchkit Why adhere to the laws of a planet that will blow up in a few hours? If you knew Earth was about to blow up would you pay your parking tickets and rent?
@bisexualbuffthug Thank you!!!! Every super hero got kinfolks that share the same powers! Like for example wonder woman and her sisters! I always wanted to see wonder womans mom get in on the action! LOL!
Marlon Brando one of the greatest actors of all time gives an extraodrinary performance despite being on screen for merely 15 minutes. He shoulda got some awards for it however.
I remember watching on TV a couple of Lex Luthor scenes that involved a pit of lions. The 1st scene had Otis feeding them some meat. The second one had Ms Tesmacher as the food(!). I couldn't find any of those scenes on youtube. Would be nice to see them again.
Superman owes his knowledge of Krypton and his powers to the green crystal his father placed in the ship. Without it, he might have never discovered his origins.
I like the fact that they did put in the music. John Williams wrote and recorded it, but whoever made the final call decided to cut it. There are plenty of versions that don't have it. This restoration should take advantage of any opportunities to make this alternate version as alternate a version as it can.
There was music in that scene already for the 1978 theatrical cut of the film, but since it was the 70's, music in films were VERY hard to here in conversational scenes. The music is well heard in the remasteration. GO JOHN WILLIAMS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
He was just chewed out by his peers. He's about to die and knows it. I think he's doing a damn good job of it. At the time he was being paid more than any actor in history for those short clips. So I guess he should have smiled at least a little bit though. Id be. ; )
@Ca1neKwa1 Marlon Brando, played Superman's father in the first Superman...he was actually on camera for only 5 minutes, yet he was paid over 3 million dollars, which put him in the Guinness Book of World Records, for the most money paid per minute, in a motion picture...
I think we can all relate to Clark Kent at times. At times we will lose all of our power. However, there are times when we regain those powers. On February 28th of this year I broke my leg, rushed to the ER, and now have a new leg. My health Insurance only paid 80% of the costs, and for the rest it was a pretty nasty hospital bill.
But like Clark, something called out to me. I forgot I was given an old pocket watch from 1915. It called out to me, and restored my powers.
@aigomar The pocket watch restored my financial powers so I could pay my hospital bills. It was like the green crystal source. I made use of the one thing that was left to me.
So its true, we all have those green crystal power crystals in our lives to restore us when we fail.
Does anyone think Brando sounds exactly like Winston Churchill? He should have played him in a biopic in his later life. He would have been great!

Superman's parents Lara and Jor-El know how to communicate. It's a good tutorial vid for struggling couples.
In the Future this is how couples of the enlightened society will argue.
Calming, clearly, dispassionately, point -- counterpoint, listing each observation or concern to the other and *listening* to each other.
