I saw Harry play Stonybrook University on Long island in the 70's. He was joking about the concert he had done in Central Park in the pouring rain and not one person left. Amazing, thank you Harry and God Bless you.
Harry touched so many people's lives in so very many ways. I first heard "Cats in the cradle" many years ago, and I cried as I drove. It made me realise just what a poor Father I was and I vowed to change my ways. I've had every record of Harrys. songs as I have a son and a daughter, and within his lyrics he laid my life bare for all to see. I've done it all, and as I near the end of my life, I hope above all other things, that Harry is "up there" still singing his wonderful compositions.
Ian, that is just tremendous, and is the best tribute song to any artist I've ever heard, including Elton's to John Lennon. Well done, and thanks for that. Harry would have been very honored.
What a great tribute to Harry! He was indeed the best songwriter/storyteller of ALL time! I have been a fan of his music for MANY years. Where did you find all the pictures of him for your video? I have a lot of them, but you definetly have a few I had never seen before. I have a Harry Chapin Dedication page on myspace if you would like to check it out. Just look under ~*Harry Chapin Obsessed*~ or if you want the URL let me know.
Why oh why do the good die young. Why oh why do the good die young.
Well he came out to Australia to take a holiday, but we wouldnt let the chance go by, we asked him if hed play. And he stood up there alone on stage with his six-stringed orchestra touched my life for a moment, touched my life for a moment, when he played.
Great stuff need to the memories of Harry alive this a great tribute.
No-one since Harry as been able to stories like he did.

Thank you for your comment. There have been some great tribute songs over the years, though I'm not sure any one can do justice to Harry.

In a world full of music that is mostly dreck & merde, Harry Chain's music is still popular.
This gives me a measure of hope for the world.
Thanks, Ian !! Bless you, man !

Oh, for Pete's sake, I meant Chapin, not " Chain ". ( You know what I mean, but still..... )
