mon sergent porte les bottes cadpat et pour être francs je crois que le fait qu'elles enlèvent le ''heat signature'' est un facteur très interessant de ces bottes
CADPAT boots? I don't mean to barge in where I'm not needed, but whats wrong with black? If black is an issue then why don't you start with something simple like OD? There's no way you'd be able to keep a pattern like that on a pair of boots.
Also, I did try to wear the issued tan boots when were in California doing workup training before we deployed. I found after that not only were they too heavy to be doing constant patrols in, the stitching around the sole started to fall apart after about a month. Overseas those boots were worse, going through paved areas, not that bad..but in desert, mountain or wandering around grapefields, horrible..wayyyy too heavy.... step in some mud and you're done.. im an infantry soldier with 3rcr -
Another issue is that there will never be a 100% solution for a standardised boot fitted to all soldiers regardless of the 80 odd sizes available. Some will require special custom insoles, others a completely new boot. Previous attempts to custom build boots for soldiers indicate that it is time consuming, costly and may still have fit issues such that soldiers will get a commercially available boot. However, no other manufacturer would be able to provide boots in CADPAT off-the-shelf.
The CADPAT TW boot addresses some of the issues of the GPB and DCB, namely the unsealed leather heelcup found in the later. However, the developer spent lots of time boasting about the moisture evaporation channel system but did not bother to address water ingress if water went over the top and the affect on the liner. Additionally, a CADPAT boot is a costly feat that provides little benefit since all boots get dirty/muddy once in the field whether(tan, brown, black, cadpat).
stop wasting money on the development of a new boot, give the soldier a boot allowance so he can choose which boot is best for his foot

@Rossco139 I heard the CADPATs are done. There is one guy still wearing his, but I heard we're going to brown eventually.

@cs3036 You don't wear parade boots in the field. You wear combat boots.

Provided the boot fits well, and prevents trench foot, there's nothing really wrong with it, besides protection.
