the crocodile is holding its mouth open slightly, carrying the baby monkey.

this is the way it would carry its OWN young, and since he doesn't just gobble the little monkey down, it seems apparent that this is a mothering issue....lost crocodile babies, replaced with baby monkey.

the holding open of its jaws that way, for the crocodile, can be down with the same amount of force, 1800 psi, that it bites down with!

this holding open of the jaw, the way the croc does, is the tipoff.
