The network was the official network of Grammy Awards, Academy Awards, Emmy Awards, Grammy Trustees Awards, Miss Universe, Miss World, Miss Teen USA, Miss USA and Miss America pageants.

On September 27, 1995, ABC-5 goes 24-hour broadcast, in time for the network's 32nd anniversary. The channel launches its tagline: In the Big League.

The network resurrected in 1992 and reformatted in 2008 as TV5.

The day was also when Russia declared war in Georgia's South Ossetia and also the start of Beijing Olympics.

Actually, ABC didn't really said goodbye at all. Maybe on TV, but I can still hear their name on 106.7 Dream FM! And their website is still active (now used by TV5)...
