  • I'm sorry to have to make this comment. I went to Crossroads, and knew Steve

first hand. I knew him a younger man, until he started doing his music.

First may I add this. If there is someone to worship it's God. For it is he who makes a diffrence in your life. Second this . Satan is the master of Music!!

Crossroads does not teach the word of God. But is a trap for good christains!

And full of the Iluminati. And I knew his Dad as well. So the next time u look up to someone. Think AGAIN who!

  • I removed the comment with my email from a year ago. It appears that when a person makes a decision, the decision is made, and not every argument can be refuted on this issue for that matter. It's just not going to be resolved- ever. Therefore, I am willing to challenge some theology but only people who are truly open, which is none of those deep-set enough in their views to want to comment here- proving that I have a closed mind myself in this way!

  • If one only believe in tangibles then one cannot love. For love is intangible as a business and you guys believe in businesses right(you can only show me property or agents of it not exclusively the "Business")? So a logic based on tangibility is flawed. You feel love but it isn't tangible. You believe in governments and corporations, but you still can't understand a belief in non-tangible entities?

    Classic neo-intellectual flawed arguments.

  • Steve is a great guy. Have had the pleasure of seeing a concert and a couple years later meeting him. Yes, he really knew (knows) how to make a point that way, doesn't he? But I honestly think he would prefer the Jesus would be the great agent of change in your life rather than him. Its not too late, why not look to God rather than mere people?

  • @h2otek I agree, I loved Steve Taylor's songs, so witty & deep but there is more to God than Christian issues. To persevere as a Christian takes spiritual depth. I encourage anyone who says they were Christian once & are now atheist, to examine the depth of where they were with God back then. If it was just a social or intellectual trip, that is not enough. Let that seed of God's word in you flourish & not die. I'm sure God misses you. He believes in you even if you don't believe in Him.

  • @aftonline Bueno. But I doubt anyone will take the time if they honestly don't believe in God in the first place. Gotta prove it first- make it unavoidable. Then things like that kick in, and we don't need to prompt it. Keep 'em all in prayer! That's the best thing.

  • You do sound like Woody Allen. Huge Taylor fan myself... major impact upon my life as well. Thanks for the posting.

  • You sounded like early Woody Allen, at the end there. You could do voice-overs :]

  • Ah. Steve Taylor. I love that man. I'm so glad that God brought Taylor's music into my life as a child. He certainly helped to form the way I look at life and the church and the world in general. Satire is a beautiful thing. :) Thanks for the video, and as others have stated, I hope you find your way back to Jesus. I can understand leaving "religion", but not Jesus!

  • i am an ex christian (now an atheist) but in the 80s I was an evagelical.I loved steve taylor. We performed many of his songs as part of our CHRISTIAN UNION , in our school assemblies. We did CLONE ., colour code and sin for a season... Where is Steve taylor now....I met him when he toured Engalnd in the 80s ... I saw him in liverpool he came on and said...'wow its so good to be here in the place where it all started...so did any of you know the BEE GEES !!.....i love his lyrics too.

  • @thomasbryn1 I challenge you doctrinally too. Why does the prospect of God seem crazy to you?

  • @jrocker152 Not sure what comment you are answering or reffering to but i am happy to accept a challenge. The concept of God ( as an ex evangelical christian) seems strange to me now as there is NO EVIDENCE for his existence in the lsightest. The New testement is at best hearsay and full of later additions and errors, Old testement is bronze age and frankly YAHWEH is horrible and evil, there is no evidnce for the survival of life after the death of the brain, certainly nothing tangible.

  • @thomasbryn1 one more thing- Define Tangible. There are people who claim to witness the phenomena. People are sentenced to life in Jail on the same evidence. Complexity itself suggests the presence of a God figure, whoever it is. Eisenstein said the existence of God is unquestionable, and that he has probably discarded us. This actually makes some sense. However, the threat of any eternal thing that isn't pleasant in the least is immensely frightening.

  • @thomasbryn1 Finally, thanks for replying and hope to see an email soon. Taylor is directing a movie called "Blue like Jazz" and Google finds it quickly.

  • he as had a few concerts since 1993 he had one in 2000 2002 2003 2004 2005 he had 50 in 2005 but see he had one last year!! i ant lieing

  • Um...

He did a tour in 1994. He did a few shows in 1995. He did only Cornerstone in 1996. He didn't do ANY shows after that until 2003 when he did Creation and Cornerstone. Chagall Guevara did a two song set for a buddy of theirs who was dying of cancer in 2005. Steve sang "Yo Ho Hero" at the "Pirates Who Don't Do Anything" premier with the Newsboys. But no, he didn't do a ton of concerts as you say...

  • Steve Taylor's music helped to shape my worldview. I have grown as A Christian because of his music. I hope to see you at the end of the finish line "bloodied but wise as you squint with the light of the truth in your eyes." You are in my prayers.

  • I run a kids club for 9 to 12 year olds and have based the last few weeks on The Finish Line.

I have been explaining to the kids that life can throw stuff at you but keep your eye on the finish line and with the help of the coach ( The Holy Spirit)you will cross the line

I love that song and it gives me determination to make it to the finish.

Parkinstone can I encourage you to listen to The Finish Line song and consider restarting your walk with the Man from Galilee.

    Go well.

    Clint

  • Greetings from New Zealand.

I became a christian in the 1980 and was introduced to I Want To Be A Clone in 1982ish.I had the album and remember making ties like those on the cover by putting wire in the tie.Went to a party and it look pretty cool.

The album was lent to a friend who left it in the sun buckling the record.I want to be a clone had a skip in it which gave the tune a new sound..

  • You said: "Our lives aren't very firmly rooted. You can take one person/aspect out, and the whole thing can crumble."

I agree, and I think that most Christians would - about one person.

  • Some of you are just idiots. Steve Taylor is the BEST thing that EVER happened to Rock 'N Roll, and it's SO ironic that some of you have missed the Life Boat and don't understand what He's saying, I just hope he cuts a few more discs before he retires completely. By the way, there are too many candy-ass Chrisitans,Taylor sees through that!!

  • Oohh yeah, that's so. They're so stupid to see things behind said word. Jesus also was an idiot for pharisees they all were shocked by what he did. People think that church is always truth and pastor knows all the best. But they miss things when Bible tells to rely only on God.

  • Another Steve Taylor lyric:

    Sally's into knowledge,

    Spent her years in college

Just to find out nothing is true.

    She can hardly speak now;

    Words are not unique now

'Cause they can't say anything new.

You say humanist philosophy is what it's all about.

You're so open-minded that your brain leaked out.

  • @hayseedsings Precisely. Cannot be said better.

  • I am sorry you've left the faith. But I pray that you'll come back ! hugs !

  • He later founded the record label Squint which hosted bands such as Chevelle and SixPence None the Richer. Steve also wrote, produced, and sang the song Shortstop for the album Roaring Lambs. I'm sure Steve would appreciate this video, yet find sadness in your departure from the faith. In the words of Mr. Taylor "I just wanna know am I pulling people closer, I just wanna be pullin' em to You ... search me Father and know my heart ..."

  • Dude he eve used Tarot Cards on his album! How controversial is that? Christians need to face the reality of the situation - tarot cards! Running out of babies I'll be out of a job!

Now let's continue to sexually torture Iraqis because after all Muslims did 911! It's in the Bible!!1

  • You think, that the cover of I Predict 1990, is a tarot card? I've seen you posted stuff like this in a lot of other Steve Taylor video threads and was wondering what in the world you were talking about with tarot cards. That is NOT a tarot card. Also seems you fail to grasp his song's lyrics, in addition to confusing warped politics with Christian beliefs. You appear to be trying, to be sarcastic for the most part, but come off as just plain belligerent and antagonistic. Seek help, you need it.

  • @NortonYorksterdam Wow nut- I really disagree with your politics now. Where are you sarcastic?

  • I hope you find God again someday, remember he's not in the church he's in your heart.

  • Psst.... Jesus is black, dood.

  • sure tell Steve Taylor fans that. "I vote Republican not because I'm white but because I am against abortion but not a crazy like Paul Hill!"

Lukewarm something spit ... don't remember.

  • @NortonYorksterdam Revelation. Laodicea. "I wish you were either hot or cold!" I believe you are misusing this.

  • @parkingst0nes Jesus is Jewish. Sorry, but Shem was white. Ham was probably black. Japheth was Oriental and white. As for Norton... I agree wholeheartedly with your politics. I do not agree with killing people who share lineage with Jesus himself, or anyone else without good reason, for that matter. In self defense, yes. In preemptive self defense, yes. Not just because they are misguided by their place of birth. You are practicing hypocrisy. Don't give Christ a bad name.

  • Comment removed

  • @parkingst0nes P.S. why are you agnostic/(atheist?) now? I think I can disprove your current mindset, hence doing you a big favor. Otherwise, disprove my beliefs and do me a huge favor. I've studied this to the max. Perhaps we can help each other.

  • @parkingst0nes Uh the bible does say that Jesus had olive colored skin, but I don't think that means His black. Many Jews have dark skin and that's because of where they are born. I' am with you on the fact that He is not white, and he was also not a sissy by any means. He was a carpenter and back then they didn't have power tools, so He had to some kind of muscle tone. This sissy blond haired Jesus is just made up. He was not pretty, white, blond haired, or a wuss. Jesus was a mans man.

  • Jesus is neither black or white but a mixture of all the colors in the spectrum...or so it said on the back of a box of Cheerios.

  • What is this, Boreing. Yeah I like Steve Taylor too but please he still writes music for Newsboys and others. LA LA LA LA !

  • This is really interesting parkingstones. I have stumbled across this as I too grew up with Steve Taylor in the 80's, then in the 90's decided not to be a Christian anymore based on the hypocricy in the church but after much soul searching decided that God is not a reflection of the church and that Jesus is the truth. I find it difficult to fit into 'Church life' so not always a church-goer. There is so much more to life than just being a part of a 'church' group.

  • great message.

  • He writes really great lyrics. I'll have to check him out. It's good to hear your voice too! Thanks for the video. I rather enjoyed it!

  • lol the original dr. phil! (zimbardo!) haha... anyway, great video and fantastic message. the ending moral is one we should all live by. thanks for sharing this!

  • I like you too, sir.
