I don't think it was because of the french that this song didn't go to the final. I just think there was too many songs in the semi final. 2007 was the last year before they started with two semifinals. In 2007's semifinal, there were 28 songs competing, and only ten of them could go to the final. If there had been two semifinals that year, I'm sure Cyprus should have gone to the final.

Very unfair that she didn't qualify in 2007. She was once again unlucky, Evridiki, because had the new voting system been implemented a year earlier I'm sure she would have got the juries' "wildcard" to the final, like Sweden did in 2008 and Croatia and Finland did in 2009. Such a shame Evridiki never did well at Eurovision, she has always been amazing.
