  • wow "Jingle All the Way" say this

  • @Rauoq Funny you should mention that. I took that scene from the Jingle all the way movie and put an original Johnny Seven commercial over Sin Bad's description of the commercial. It matched almost perfectly! I had it up on youtube but of course Sony pulled it for copyright infringement.

  • I'll wait a few more years. I hear the Johnny 11 will be bad ass.

  • MICRO HELMET!!

    MICRO HELMET!!

    MICRO HELMET!!

  • this is amazing yyou gotta love it :)

  • FAN VA COOLT

  • "Micro Helmet! Micro Helmet! Micro Helmet!" and now, 40+ years later, we have "Head On! Apply directly to the forehead! Head On! Apply directly to the forehead! "Head On! Apply directly to the forehead!" Also, it sounds like the kid at 0:05 is saying "Ommagommagommanummanumma!" In all actuality, I wanted these toys myself when I was a kid. Maybe in the back of my mind I still do.

  • lol my dad had one xxxx

  • toys teaching kids to fight in south east asia since the 1960s

  • God I miss the Cold War. At least some Nerf stuff is kinda similar nowadays, with modular design and what not.

  • i just found out about this from watching jingle all the way

  • most annoying commercial ever and the end sounds like a failed subliminal message xD

  • If we had had real versions of this gun we would have been out of Afghanistan and Iraq YEARS ago! ;-)

  • VINTAGE!

  • yep,all these peacenicks and p.c. pansies are turning this country into a real shithole....man up america and buy your kids some good ol' fun toy guns and turn out some more real men. these toys were great.

  • be the first kid on your block to be the LAST kid on your block!!

  • My best Chistmas gift too. Isn't political correctness great. These politically correct jackasses are turning us into sheep so that the rest of the world can come in and slaughter us!

  • I would have sold my sister for one of those when I was six.

    I've moved on now.

  • Microhelmet!

    Microhelmet!

    Microhelmet!

  • Put that cookie down. NOW!

  • (Mirum says)....Yeah, my dad DIDNT get me a jonny 7.......look at me now!! (Howard says)......But it's just a doull, it's just a stupid douuulll!! (Mirum says).......Ah ah ah ahhh!!....Dat's.....ACTION FIGURE!!!

  • I had a Crime Buster gun, but always envied the Johnny 7.

  • I had one, it was great

  • Holy crap this thing's real?!

  • Yes! Sinbad speaks the truth!

  • @gomangojoe His neighbor is the CEO of a German company now

  • Poor Sinbad.

  • Yeah. I totally looked this up to see if it was a real gun after seeing that movie.

  • I miss my J-7.

  • aint a anti-armor and ati-tank gun the same thing?

  • Yes, but calling it a Johnny 6 would not sound as cool as Johnny 7!.

  • Now I understand US gun laws. lol

  • Microhelmet ! For years I remembered it as Monkey Helmet...Oh Boy the Mind of a kid ...BUT it was still So Cool. The Sixties where playing army was fun.....Looking back though you have to wonder...

  • Fun and not a fat kid to be found because he burnt the blubber off with a johnny 7 oma.

  • Microhelmet !

    Microhelmet !

Thats what I call commercial strategy ... bang it into the childrens head :)

  • How come there is no bayonet? lol

  • Cooooool.

  • I head of this off jingle all the way lol watching it now =]

  • im a 11...my step dad told me about this now i see this i want one now!!....they should make a remake!

  • I had the Johnny 7as a youth, takes me back. Those backyard war games were all but over with that bad boy! These days this would be politically incorrect.

  • They should fight wars with these guns, it would be real fun.

  • i wish the still made toys like this insted of that super hero and sports crap

  • Interesting to note the use of the Asian sounding gong as the various features of the toy are demonstrated, considering the Johnson administration was just ramping up the war in Indochina at this time.

    Excellent post

  • monster headset :0

  • 30 ft. of wire? lol. Might as well have used two cans and a string. :)

Burned it into their brain i tell you.

  • micro helmet!micro helmet!micro helmet!micro helmet!micro helmet!micro helmmicro helmet!et!micro helmet!micro helmet!micro helmet!micro helmet!micro helmet!micro helmet!

  • I had one of these, and my best friend next door did too. It was pretty awesome when we would play "Army" with the other kids in the neighborhood. So much firepower..... The Tommy Gun part failed pretty quickly, but the pistol was pretty robust and fired caps petty reliably. Never had the helmet though.

  • OMG!!! It did exist! I remember hearing about this gun in the movie "Jingle All the Way." (when Myron talked about how he wanted one of these for christmas.) I always thought it was one of those products the writers made up for the movie.

    this is so cool.

  • I made a video of that scene and put the original commercial footage in while Sinbad was telling about the commercial. The video came out great, but the owners of Jingle all the way pulled it for copyright infringement. I offered to pay them for the use of the clip and they did not even have the courtesy to respond.

  • lol I heard from that movie too, until i saw a part of this commercial on Modern Marvels

  • HA! my Dad described a gun to me that his frined had when he was a kid, I bet this is it. wow.

Why say Microhelmet three times? haha random!

  • Dang I Wanna REAL One...

  • Thats where they got the ideas for the OICW and all that force 21 stuff

  • MICRO HELMET!

    MICRO HELMET!

    MICRO HELMET!

    hahahahahah!!!!

  • I saw this advert on UK TV when I was a kid & badly wanted one - it never happened though. I think the price was about 37/6 in pre decimal money - about £1.75 GBP!! We were poor and my dad couldn't stretch to it. Too bad!

  • What was the helmet called?

  • It's call Johnny Seven Micro Helmet Phone set.

  • It really is sublimital advertising at the end. LOL

  • Absolutely great Dude thanks for the research. I am 46 now and i had one when i was about 4-5 y.o., it was absolutely the best toy i ever had. I used to play with it for hours alone in our minuscule backyard saving the worl from all sorts of ennemy attacks. Later in life i became a police officer, think there's a link ? :-). I am now searching on e-bay to try and buy one, i would proudly display it somewhere in a glass casing or something. Brings back a lot of memories i tell you.

  • I'm glad you enjoyed it. If your looking for one, drop a message to "dezurtdude" on youtube or E-Bay. Same name on both sites. He totally strips the guns and referbishes them. Check with him and see if he has any now. For quicker service, tell him I sent you.

  • ahahahaaa, my dad was trying to explain this too me, he said him and his brother used to play with them, i can imagine him as the wee guy with the helmet :P

  • gomangojoe,

I've got to hand it to you!!! Great commercial. Where did you get it? I've been looking all over for it! Excellent. I should be posting a real Johnny Seven One Man Army very soon. As soon as the vid camera battery is charged. Thanks for sharing!

    Dezurtdude

  • I got 3 VHS tapes with commercials from a tag sale 10 years ago. Most of them were food and cigarette commercials but there were a couple of toys on them.
