  • The tree by side of a track could be fatal. Kinetic energy by this example must be dispersed not blocked. If Tony would have hit to stationar object like tree he would be in mortuary. I respect Tony because he has iron will. May live in health and happines.

  • he was at my school today and he said that he didnt get a bruise from that crash lol u guys are retatrded

  • @phillyfn1 Well he did get more than a bruise, He broke his left leg and had some very slight head injuries. But for what happened and how violent that crash was....he was very lucky. He did however have another crash at Memphis in 2003 where the chassis broke but he did walk away unhurt in that deal

  • i'm surprised he's still alive

  • memphis tigers suck

  • Tony is a good guy...he can't stop to say hello to every single goober that wants to chat. Let's say you were really talented working at the drive thru(guessing not)...wouldn't you get pissed if some dork kept poking his head through the door to ask if you could sign his hat...especially if you've got a customer at the window!?

  • HOLY SHIT!!!!!!!!!

  • he doesnt win to much, he has is bad days just like everyone else, someone who wins to much is greg anderson -.-

  • car went where?

  • Even tho Tony's still alive today, doesn't take away the fact that he's an ass. I met him in Houston in 2007, and wasn't exactly too kind when i asked what lane was good for the day.

Still, wicked crash, he's lucky to not have major injuries after that one.

  • Is he an asshole?

  • wat he say and wat he do

  • If he would have hit that tree, Tony would have suffered the same fate that his crew chief's son, Blaine faced at Indy in 1996. Safety is an ongoing process, and crashes like these remind us all that we should always be looking for ways to make the cars safer.

  • Blaine was Allen's brother, not son. And that tree has since been removed, though the timing lights are always still a concern.

  • I meant brother. Sorry bout that.

  • Does anybody know when it was that they changed the 100% nitro methane rule? I heard that schumacher ran a 4.25 before this was changed. Hmm..

  • They changed to 90% after 1999, and no one has ever gone 4.25, I think what you're thinking of is when Shoe went 330 mph at Phoenix '99

  • did he win that

  • yeah people need to pay attention and know what there talking about iagree with you people need to get there heads out of there asses and pay attention.

  • bruce allens accident with kenny koretsky in pro stock in 2006 looked far worse to me.

  • jajajajjajajajajjajajajjajaja

    jajajajajajajjajajajajajaajaj

    jajaajajajajajajajjajaja

    run peach ruuuuuuun

    jajajajaja

  • No, he is still racing.

  • where did the guy go lol

  • nascar sucks whats so good about going around and around the track when u can see some real action like to see a nascar driver go against a dragster then lets see who wins. tony still the best and this is a soldier signing off.

  • ahhman sooo glad he survived this crash! so so lucky!! that top gear crash (rihard Hammond) was no way worse than this, that was pathetic! all the media hype etc...stupid!! drag racing is the best sport ever and always will be!! glad you survived tony!! and glad that it didnt go into the crowed!! Keep on going you americans..... from british drag fan oli :) P.S R.I.P Eric Medlin were thinking of you over here too!!!

  • needless to say that the other guy won

  • no he did not

  • That was the worst Top Fuel accident I've ever seen! Tony was lucky that he sailed over the guard wall or he would have been killed for sure. He would have hit it at around 270 mph!

  • The jetcar accident for the Top Gear show wasn't strictly racing but was every bit as fast and was also survived. Craig Breedlove's first effort to break the sound barrier disintegrated round him at perhaps as much as 675 mph - the highest-speed survived car crash ever, though arguably still not a race.

  • He was doing EVERY BIT of over 300 mph when the car hit the wall.. But notice how gently the cockpit bounces, and rolls (COMPARED TO THE REST OF THE VEHICLE).. God was DEFINATELY watching over him, and keeping him safe...

  • I think this may be the worst survived auto racing crash in modern times.

  • Tony Schumacher IS NHRA top fuel!! You are the best!! I love watching the US Army team waxing butt on the strip!! Glad yo made it through this! Rest in heavenly peace Eric Medlin..

  • no way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Unbelivable that he survived and get back to the cockpit only a few months later!

  • wow
