  • what song / chant was used in the beginning, the one with the lyrics "rex"?

  • bellissimo documentario ma il 2 marzo 1876 era Giovedì...dato che hanno sbagliato il giorno ben meno mi fido che ke sia stato un giorno piovoso

  • Thanks for posting so much, darsham.

  • l ho sognato stanotte...

    W Sua Santità PP.PIO XII P.M.

  • si, uno dei più grandi papi della storia della chiesa, senza dubbio!

  • Holy Man chosen by God to care for the church during a terrible time. Holy Pius XII please pray for us.

  • viva PIO PP. XII P.M.!!!

Grazie darsham xaverlo postato!

  • Ti ringrazio, ho apprezzato molto i tuoi interventi musicalmente illuminanti.

  • Wasn't this soundtrack from a Dario Argento horror film?

  • the book Hitler's Pope is a very very poor book, written and based on personal anti-pontificial and catholic sentiments rather than research and study. I must say it is one of the worst books my eyes have set sight upon

  • Pius XII was vocally anti-Communist, for which Communists have steadily tried to assassinate his character. To view testimonials of victims and witnesses of the persecution against Roman Catholics in Communist China, please check out my videos...

  • Perfect archive documents! Thanks

  • Pius XII the last prince of God? Yes, after him we have the popes being the emperors of God.

Pius XII is the best pope of the XXth century, better than JPII.

  • In what way was he better?

  • He lead the Catholic Church during WWII in a superb maner. And he kept the faith of the Church impecably. He was the apex of the efforts of his predecessors. After him, came the deluge.

  • No honest catholic would dispute the superb leadership of PXII, or call him anything but a righteous, incredibly intelligent, holy leader, but the other popes have played important roles too. It's not worth comparing JPII and PXII, they ruled in completely different eras, ultimately their objective was to guide the Lord's flock, don't get caught up in too much besides what was first intended by Jesus to his Peter and his successors. PXII did what was right for his time, and JPII for his.

  • To say that the Catholic Church today is the same as the one that Pius XII governed is not true, even through the popes since John XXIII tell us that it is. As for JPII, he was a showman. I do not doubt that he might have been a holy person, but he was quite a mediocre pope, but after all the Church after the II Vatican is mediocre. And in fact his erros is guiding the Church could have been the result of his personal pride. As Paul VI, he used the power of the papacy beyond any limits.

  • Oh no...not another sedevacantist, yes, the Catholic Church is also different from Peter's time to Pius XII's time, it's also different from Innocent II's time to Gregory XVI's time. So what's your point? It's always been different. Mediocre pope? He extended his hand to people everywhere around the globe, and as a result many people listened, and still do, because of his efforts. Pius XII was holy, but his character was too eccentric for today's time. I am NOT entering another debate about V2.

  • I don't critize that JPII travel all around the world. I critize JPII for his failure to purify the Church and for deepening the silent apostasy in the Church. If you don't believe this, read the news about the scandals and bizarre doctrines comming out of Rome. I critize the ecumenism that has brought confussion to the church.

  • I will not attempt to defend every action of JPII, nor should anyone. What he could have done, could be said of any pope, including PiusXII, in retrospect, PiusXII could have done many more things, but he didn't because he could not see the full picture when the events were happening. What bizarre doctrines are you referring to? If anything ecumenism is bringing people towards the church, especially the Anglicans who are fed up with their confusing ways.

  • Anglicans to the Catholic Church? Where? Haven't your heard of Alberto Cutie a hispanic priest who was called Father Oprah and joined the Anglican Communion? If JPII or Benedict XVI would had governed the Church during the II WW, they would have provoked Hitler into invading the Vatican and exterminating most of the clergy and catholics. Pius XII was measured but spoke in ways in which he could be understood.

  • There's no point picturing what different popes would have done in different eras. They were popes for THEIR time. Perhaps JPII would have provoked Hitler, but it doesn't matter, since he was pope of a different period. PXII would not have been the best Pope to reach out to the younger crowds like JPII did, he did many things PXII could not, or did not do because the time was not right, the world changed dramatically in the 60's. PXII was of a different era. And now I'm sick of this, cya.

  • One final point. The faith has changed, it is not the same. Yes, JPII was rather good with MTV children, but Pius XII motivated people for selfsacrifice. JPII appealled to the TV, Pius XII apealled to the faith. I grew up with JPII and saw him personally, and still Pius XII convinces me and JPII (and the conciliar church) does not. Now Benedict XVI is JPII without the charisma or without his measure. All in all a complete failure.

  • Unless you have evidence that JPII motivated people to indulge, everything you just said is hearsay. JPII appealed through the TV as well as travel. Pius did not as much as JPII did. I also grew up in JPII's time, and so have many people, so what's your point? It's a wide sweeping generalization of several decades to conclude it's all a failure, no doubt some kind of extremist, doom and gloom philosophy that you're propagating here. I care not anymore.

  • My point is that the Church is in complete confusion. The liturgy is a complete confusion, the morals are in complete confusion, and the faith itself is in complete confusion.

  • yes but the foundation is still there isnt it? is not the foundation christ himself? the incarnate word of god the most high? wee shouldnt critisize the pope no matter what! we must follow him whether strong and young, or old and weak. we must pray to god that he might bless our pope with fortitude. there are many judas's about him, many bishops and cardinals now become part of the world, misleading the flock, and causing our holy father much suffering.

  • I don't believe that we shouldn't criticize the pope no matter what. The pope is not Christ. The pope is just his vicar and as a vicar he only has authority within the commands and teachings of Jesus Christ. In addition he is bounded and confined by the 2000 year church's tradition. No present or future pope can act as if the church has been refounded, because no pope or council have authority to refound the church.

  • than i guess you would disagree when i say that the priest represents Jesus in the godhead.

and secondly, i do agree, the church shouldnt change, because heaven and god don't change. but still the foundation is there (THE FOUNDATION IS JESUS CHRIST) therefore the mass is still valid despite the changes ETC.

  • the godhead is the blessed trinity. the pope is the VISIBLE head of the church. since he is the sucesser of peter, his duty is to draw other to christ, and to teach them of the gosple.

  • The term Godhead is archaic and it survives in modern English because of its use in three places of the Authorized King James Version of the Bible. And this bible is not catholic. The correct denomination for the Holy Trinitry is the "Triune God". Yes, the pope is the visible head of the church, and Jesus Christ is the invisible and real head of the Church. And yes I agree with his duties, which are centered in governing the Church in the name and under the majesty of Jesus Christ.

  • In addition the Novus Ordo sacraments have huge voids and th is was recognized by authoritative prelates of the church. In addition, a culture regarding the sacraments, which goes against tradition, has come over the Church. And this culture is extremely deleterious to the failthfuls' faith.

  • In addition, to understand the government of the Catholic Church, we have to consider the role of the Roman Curia in the governing of the Church, wich is huge and sometimes it appears to act by itself.

  • but yet his god given authority, comes from the SUPREME OF THE SUPREMES if you know what i mean. he is peter, and if you disagree please respond.

  • didnt Jesus say that he would give him the keys to the kingdom? after Jesus ascended, peter and the apostles had to continue the work of salvation, they also had to choose who would succeed them if they didn't we wouldn't have a church this is called apostolic succession. read the story of Mathias taken Judas' place in the Acts of the apostles.

  • Pope Pius XII the Great and truely Pius and Majestic Pope of the 20th Century. He proclaimed the Dogma of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.A true Vicar and Apostle of Jesus Christ. He wrote the Great Encyclical Mysticis Corporis about the true Doctrine of the Church of Christ. He was the greatest Pope, the Angelic Pope. Thanks for the Video!

  • MERCI pour ces vidéos.

Ce sont des reportages que l'on devrait voir plus souvent.

Pie XII a sauvé 850 000 juifs, il faudrait se le rappeler.

Un homme qui a sauvé autant de vie humaines mérite le respect !

    Vive Pie XII

    Philomeneraymonde

  • Great footage, but the historical account is superficial. For example, the commentator suggests that Pius X was critical of the modern era, i.e., technological developments such as the automobile. Yet the heresy known as modernism has nothing to do with Fiats.

  • Great footage, and commentary is wonderful. Long live the true Popes!

  • On June 1, 1919 it was reported in all the newspapers not that a gun was pointed at Msgr. Pacelli by the communists in Munich, but that Msgr. Pacelli was "obliged to leave his post in Munich because of his connection with revolutiionary interests in that city." The article was entitled "Papal Nuncio at Munich mixed up with the Reds." Furthermore, Sr. Pasquelina was not with him at that time, i.e. 1919.

  • Meraviglioso! Grazie! Papa Pacelli, ora pro nobis!

  • LOVELY, but I must always remind you,THERE IS NO GOD.

These people are EVIL, the church and the popes, and all this, they are crazy people who use this god story to take advantage of feeble minded people.

Beware, all they do if for power and to spread hatred.

  • Merci pour cette vidéo ! thank you for this video. I don't pay any attention to evil comments...Grazie per questo clip ! Deo gratias !

  • sorry deathvult, but you're wrong, maybe you say that just for an anticlerical reason or because you're of another confession, but please, don't say such stupidities, they were good persons as million of catholics that gave their lifes for the poors, the humbles etc., try to have respect for our religion also because no one forces you to watch that.

  • it's a pleasure, in the next days i'll try to upload some other parts about his first years.

  • Thank you so much for posting these great footages! Grazie mille!!!

  • marvelous footage and story of the young Eugenio Pacelli, future Pope Pius XII. The brief footage of St Pius X walking in the Vatican Gardens is also remarkable.
