Undoubtedly May Blitz is one of the few bands that transcended time, as they sound like straight from the recording studio with a sound so original that at times makes us forget that there were bands like Led Zeppellin who ruled in the early 70's. Whether or not succeeded at the time, regard them as great artists.
A great example of real first generation progressive rock...you never knew what was coming next on the first listen...anything could and did often happen! She's either unfortunate or blessed, but I know a girl who walks and breathes today who looks like May Blitz!

I used to work at a book and record store and accidently found the first album (this one) with no cover....it sat in the corner of my office for about a month and then finally took it home to listen to it and man I was hooked!!! Then did a search and purchased the 2nd of May....I"LL NEVER GET ENOUGH OF THESE GUYS! ROCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! P.S. if anyone has the cover for the first album....i'll send u a recording of both albums on cd for trade!
In the info you say they "pioneered Canadian West Coast music". I dig that, think I get it too, but would you mind expanding on what you mean by that? I'm intrigued. Any examples of Canadian bands in that period? Any thoughts on the West Coast Canadian sound in relationship to San Francisco Bay at the time. Love your videos. :)
One of the greatest album covers ever!! Opened up to show outrageous art cartoon!!

Their sound overlaps considerably with the first Funkadelic release, but considerably tighter and more professional than the latter.

An awesome album. I was lucky the day I found it in the cut out bin. "Squeet," and "I Don't Know" are two more notable tracks on the record.
