I encountered this problem several times as well. The first time, it worked after waiting a while and eventually it worked. Then I found that putting it in the best mood helps (full happiness after eating and just used the litter box). If these dont work, I recommend trying several different techniques, saving and quitting, re-installing the mo-creatures mod; but after doing both of these things I found it worked.

I think you just feed the youngsters when they grow up. I dont think they require any other care until then; I think their moms feed them.

I dont think he will always be half-lifed. I think it increases overtime. From what I remember, if you drop a piece of cooked fish or right click whilst holding one (its one or the other, I can't remember) it regains health faster :D

They have to be in the best mood to make them breed. Try feeding them, then let them use the litter box. After this try and it should work because they are in the best mood possible.

I am not sure, you could try making them alone in the room; but I dont see why that would be a problem if my character was in there the whole time. The only other advice I can give is keep trying to make them eat it. It took me several times before they ate it; you could also try different cats (they could be bugged).

Maybe a bug or something like that. I tried to make a tutorial earlier and struggled with the cake part, but I kept trying for a while and re-booted the game; that made it work for me.

I have been experimenting and discovered that it will only work if they are happy (fully fed, etc).
