Dude... Not bad at all! But you need to let your own personality come out a bit more in the notes and be a little less mechanic in your not playing. Find yourself in the keys and smooth it out a bit more. You've got promising chops.
Also, a trick I learned from the best friend of legendary saxophonist Gene "Jughead" Ammons (RIP to both of them), when you wash out your sax with water, don't dry it, but rather leave it wet and then play. Hear the distinct smooth sound it gives. Give it a shot.

I'm a music major in college too and can honestly say that sounds really good. The only part that was weird was the end there without a background chord, but not a big deal at all. I'm a classical saxophonist so couldn't ever use this for a jury but it sounds great. Are you playing on a Selmer Reference 54?

Isn't it cool... to be able to feel the buttons that soloist pushed, and to be able to put out the same tone he did?

Define hard, first. It'll take some time, yeah, but if you love it enough to play everyday, you can do it, sure.

I'm a music major in college too and can honestly say that sounds really good. The only part that was weird was the end there without a background chord, but not a big deal at all. I'm a classical saxophonist so couldn't ever use this for a jury but it sounds great. Are you playing on a Selmer Reference 54?
