@onpoint As you could see from the video, this machine offers many more options for your workout than a simple hanging rope. It also has several different difficulty settings for people who can't climb, or would like a more difficult workout. Many gym owners also do not have the ceiling clearance to hang a long enough rope to be used for any effective exercise, not to mention that this thing is basically an infinitely long rope, so you can climb as long as you like without getting to the top : )
