yep this basied of off David Berkawitz, who signed all his taunting letters to authorities only know as "the son of sam". His weapon of choice a 22.cal pistal which he shoot people at randam. He would mostly shoot teenagers in parked cars, or people just standing around alone late at night. he killed over 20 people, and admitted the the devil came to him as a dog to take lives as a service to lucifer
