  • is it bad for the transmition/engine if u do not match revs when downshifting, but u realease the clutch slowly?

  • do you let go of the clutch when downshifting EACH time at EACH gear ? or just holding the clutch in eventhough downshifting twice ?

  • @qqhaikal you can down shift from gear 5 to gear 1 while holding clutch but you need to be moving but not need to be at high speed

  • sorry im noob. what is actually happen in this video? after we down shift the gear do we need to put on some gas before release the clutch? and can we just pop the clutch or we should release the clutch slowly? thanks in advance

  • Just like rev matching in a car, I see people downshifting by riding the clutch out. It's not terrible, but I laugh when they all need new clutches.

  • @Maclolp

I'm not sure what you're laughing at. Do you track your bike at all? The local racers at my club fall into two camps: those who blip their downshifts and those who only feather the clutch without throttle. Both camps are highly competitive and the clutch only guys are damn smooth. I blip myself as that's the technique I've been using for years but I don't discount the guys that are surgeons with the clutch. Also, they aren't going through clutches any faster than I am.

  • grrrr this is what im trying to master... I watch this video all the time i just hate the way i downshift

  • Hello, if I don't know when I should blip the throttle while downshifting, can I just blip it anyway? Is it dangerous? If possible, can you give me an example at what rpm and at what road speed I should blip the throttle? Sorry for my bad English.

  • @kinwai2727 dno how to help ya but youre english is better than most here, good job :D

  • Do this technique wrong or over-rev, you'll doing a wheelie or 180 flip!

  • @rocrfella No you wont as you won't be on the gas when you drop the clutch there wont be enough force to make you wheelie let alone flip lol.

  • 4 fingers 4 the win

  • The bike won't "dive" it takes a lot of force on the brake lever and shifting forward bodyweight to "dive."

  • jesus why dont u get closer to the car

  • @TheZoelzer2 lol

  • it's called double clutching!

  • geten close to that car

  • friend of mine said this was bad for the engine/ gears but it isn't is it?

  • @valetdabess

if done correctly its the equivalent of shifting up as far as wear and tear goes.

  • how do you hold the brakes and blip at the same time..?

  • @Rennfahrer555

only use 2 fingers on the brake lever. Grip the throttle between the palm and thumb.

  • This was shot in Churchville Md right? I recognize it lol

  • @Patrickdrums6732

yes sir! just moved back the area too.

  • are you sure it wasnt a match to see who could get closer to the gray car?

  • @Dubbledeehonkey

    LOL! my thoughts as well

  • I also learned how to bring my bike almost complete stop using this technique, normally aim at great distance, execute the maneuver and even flashing my brake light to

  • @josephtan1818

good job! flashing brakes is always good.

  • BMORE WOOP

  • I cant believe a lot of people don't do this or know to do this, I think a better demonstration would have been doing it at speed, getting to 1st while still doing 70kmph or so just to give the effect for the reason it is done..

  • been doing this for a while and never realized it was called bliping the throttle all the while wondering what that meant lol

  • I just started doing this recently, I picked it up instantly, but im sure it will take awhile to master, i found i have to start pulling the throttle JUST before i pull the clutch and downshift.

  • How can people not know how to do this? Its easy! In quick succesion, Pull the clutch in as you do so click it down a gear and blip the throttle at the same time. Job done.

  • this video suxx!

you dont even break you just shift down!!!

  • @rama6maiden you mean brake? err.... he's match speed and engine braking.......... lol.

  • @sinblesser

dude what i meant was, when your going on 160-200 you cant just blip the throttle and wait for the bike to slow down to 4-5000 rmp!!!

  • @rama6maiden @rama6maiden you can blip the throttle and shift down 3 gears at 160- 200....................................... the reverse pull would probably high side ya. -.-

  • OMG! you Discovery the World!

  • Wow how do you even hit the accelerator while pulling on the brake? I thought only cars were able to be rev matched while braking.

  • @tubegangsta that, my friend, takes the most practice. if you can fingerblast a bearded clam while tickling its chin you can brake and blip.

  • @oCannabusdriver

I love you for this comment. This is the best analogy I've heard this month.

  • @tubegangsta rear braking helps too

  • Too slow and not timed right.

    See my video "Quick Downshift"

  • @aydinvideo nice! But to short...

  • i always do this when down shifting but it just came naturaly, didnt know it was anything special :S

  • @JakesToons ye same here, I thought it's how everyone downshifts lol

  • wow. Slow and sloppy.

  • Only when engine breaking? Do you do it while braking also?

  • So you blip then downshift?

  • @jdubb706 blip AND downshift at the same time.

  • @cirsory1 oh i thought you did it before downshifting too? but then again im a new rider so i'm just gonna follow your lead

  • @jdubb706

u just take ur clutch gear down and release the clutch again

  • : @jdubb706, 4th -> neutral -> gas -> 3rd.

  • so getting the rpms up stops the reer from locking?

  • @dquin12 yes, but if you go too high it will lunge forward.

  • ahh ok so how do u know if your blipping to much?

  • @dquin12 when you feel your back wheel jump forward a bit. it should be obvious when it happens

  • ok thanks mate!

  • @cirsory1 Happens to me ALL the time on my super high output cbr125r

  • wtf??? woud hardly call that tailgating....you went to a stop a little close to the car thats all

  • i learned this including the braking while doing it today. took like 15 minutes. although i do the whole heel toe downshift stuff in the car all the time, its like second nature. so i spose it only was a matter of time till i got used to the controls of the bike and was able to do it on the bike too...

  • @slaytaniclaughter i switched to gp shifting after alot of people told me it would take awhile to get used to, but i never shifted the wrong way and picked it up quickly.

  • very nice

  • sweet

  • rofl nice shifting but is it good sense to tailgate car bumpers 1 inch away

  • lol i know that was back in my stupid days. i dont do dumb crap like that anymore.

  • i must be weird. if im lucky i will ride once every 4 or 5 months. i seemed to pick this up quite easily. ive only ridden about 8 or 9 times in that time.

  • Thanks man!
