if those were legal in the united states with legit permits and handling and all that, id def. try to get one, and i understand that there wild guys but yea lol
Pobresitos deberian estar en su habitat natural, en la selva o donde ellos realmente puedan vivir y no en un pequeño cuarto como si fueran prisioneros.
They need some rocks, dirt, and fresh green foliage in there...even if it's in the form of potted plants, it would be better than nothing (which is pretty much what they had in there, at the time this was filmed). Even if there was a forest mural painted on the wall...that'd be a hell of a lot more exciting than boring grey concrete. And some 'toys' to play with.
lemurs should never be in captivity their to energetic to be kept in a contained area with little room to move around and that little cage they were in was just a bluish room with a couple bars. no plants no enrichment of any kind. i volunteer at my zoo and im an animal freek beyond belief.
did anyone ever watch zaboomafoo as a kid? or...at all i still watch episodes on the internet lol
Check out this zoo or place, they have both this mother & baby in a room where there is no sun light or other animals to socialize with. Lemurs are very social animals & need to be with people or other lemurs to interact with. And you tell me owning a lemur is bad? Mine is in no where near that kind of condition. She is well loved, cared for, well fed, sheltered, & has no worries about fighting for her life for territory or fighting to find food. Im not trying to sound negative at all.
I didn't know they could be friendly. I think just like kangaroos, pigs, and any other animal that's found in zoos AND in homes, as long as they're treated kindly by their keepers it doesn't have to be a bad thing. But still i don't like the idea keeping them home :D

She's a ring-tailed lemur, right? I actually adore them. In Tallinn zoo we had one. He would come to the cage and lick your fingers :D But he was very old. They live to 35 years i guess.
Jazel is about 8 or 9 months old I got her when she was a baby and she still acts like one too, lol. Yeah shes a ringtail and yes they live to be 35 or 40 years old. We live on a ranch with many kinds of farm animals. So she has much to do around here, aggravate the dogs, play with the cats, drive my mom crazy. Mostly, I love it when she gets sleepy then she'll start to purr like a cat. Jazel is one awesome little character.

Lemurs can make normal pets, classified as exotic pets. Mine is normal, & she is such an awesome character. They are legal to have in the United States (where I live) in a lot of areas. Better being in a loving home with 30 acres to play on out in the country with tons of fun activities. Unlike in most zoos that have them crammed in tiny rooms or cages. My lemur is well cared for, fed, sheltered & does not have to fight for territory. In the wild U see most of them emaciated, skin & bones.

I'm sorry, but that's really hypocritical. first you say zoos are bad because the animals are "crammed into tiny rooms or cages" but then you imply captivity is better than the wild because "most of them are emaciated, skin and bone", which is simply not true. The wild is a tough place but NATURAL. animals are supposed to forage and intinctually fight for territory and if we tried to "save" every animal that was on the skinny side, there'd be none left in the wild.
