It looks like Liz is fighting the battle of the bulge in this movie. She looks a little bloated, her arms appear chubby, and the clothes are cut to where they appear to be covering up whatever pudginess her figure has. Plus the cameraman choses his angles carefully and rarely shoots her full figure.
We all due respect to Ms. Taylor, her characterization of Alexandra Del Lago is slight in comparsion to Geraldine Page's. But, I guess , to be fair, any actress attempting this role has lengendary shoes to fill.
We don't want to say goodbye any time soon though....at least I sure don't because, when she goes so does my idol and inspiration (she's right under god) for me. I love you Elizabeth !!!!!!!! The movie "these old broads" was fantastic in my eyes too!!!!!! It shows that Liz still has it!!!!
Another great one! lol at the part where she's flipping through life magazine. She used to be on a lot of those covers back in the 50s and 60s... :D
The theme of the video seem to work really well with her character that is trying to recapture her youth...
Still she looks great for being in her 50s...too bad she didn't do much acting after this. How big was her part in the 2001 movie she did with Debbie Reynolds and Joan Collins by the way?
She was shown only in bed reading scripts for only a few minutes. She looked great. She made it in October 2000 and it was aired (on TV) in February 2001, but she was barely in it. Rich
I've seen both These Old Broads and this movie by now (Sweet Birds of Youth). I watched the last one tonight. I actually liked "These Old Broads" more as it was so funny. This movie was sorta...I don't know your video is right on target and unfortunately makes the movie look more interesting than it was IMHO. lol I guess it's the pacing of movies that are adapted from theatre plays that can be rather slow...
Elizabeth still did a good job with her part though. :)
hey I love Mark Harmon, And it is a pride that has worked with liz taylor, she is the great actrez, sorry I have not understood your mensage, and not speak enghish.

YES- This was a true Elizabeth Taylor role. I loved her complete act, dress, and courage in taking on such a role.

She was beautiful in this movie! It's too bad she didn't make more theatrical films in her later years. She was still sexy and gorgeous

these old broads is a horrible movie.
I wish Elizabeth had a small part in a good film, like a sort of goodbye.
