To the woman who was whispering during this clip - as I type this, 4042 people have had to listen to you whisper during a live recording. Shame on you.
The strings did an amazing job. The chorus was good, but I think it wasn't musical enough. However, they were well in tune, and that counts for a lot! I've heard recording of bernstein, and they have not been good.
i'm impressed that these are high school students. we are doing this now at northeastern university but at my high school we once did little mermaid medley :)

worst. i don't care what you think of my comment it's the worst choir and that girl studderd during her high pitch not necessary. i know alot of girl who can put hit that high not without even slowing down. Shameful shame on this pethetic choir!
(1) you should learn how to spell. (2) if she sang it that way, her director probably told her to. (3)if you can't say something nice, why say anything at all?
ummmm i dont wanna be mean but you guys need alot of practice my choir practices well and were great but u guys didnt really butcher it up that much it was actually pretty good but like i was saying...could be better
Wow...amazing...Bernstein. His love of music and its impact on youth...he would be/he is on whatever podium he now directs the heavenly hosts is so beaming with pleasure. This is not easy music and you have done it honors. Thank you.
He was also incredibly embarrassed the whole time. I was really impressed that he was brave enough to go in front of all those people considering how shy he normally is.
The opening prelude is TERRIBLE on organ. Bernstein wrote it for strings and it is difficult to make it sound well without making it sound like someone's killing a cat.

Just so you know, the two choirs practiced together for the first time on the day of the concert. So it was kind of crazy.

I agree, and I'm an organist. I've heard it on organ and it's dreadful! Strings are the way it was meant to be performed
