i have found that it isnt too difficult if you use the grid and place the defenses diagonally. takes the mobs longer to get thru cause of how they need to move in an L pattern instead of just straight. Also i don't upgrade the machine guns because you can spend your money on the other weapons. i use the machine guns only to help create the paths.

helicopters are real tuff when they come in lots, you need to have a line of the tesla zappers with the green slower zappers along the middle, hope this helps
